   The custom is for the first lady to run the social and everyday affairs of the running of the White House. The president generally has too much to do and to think about to decide on the color of table cloths or what is for dinner 3 weeks from now.

   She was talking about her husband & herself & the way they run their home & family. The words in the speech was taken out of contex because the media loves scandals for attention.
