Why aren’t the candidates disclosing who they will have for Vice President?
How are we to make responsible choices when we don’t know who the vice presidents will be? The people we vote for may be replaced by someone we wouldn’t want as president. Don’t you think they should get votes with the whole picture on the table?
They don’t usually announce running mates until there is a clear nominee which usually happens at the conventions.
first they have to win the nomination -
Yeah there hasn’t been a clear answer as to who all the candidates will be so why jump the gun here. But if you’re suggesting that they pick their running mate in time for the primaries, then we wouldn’t have this lovely drawn out circus we have right now. we would have peace and tranquility.
The problem with announcing running mates to early is that it gives opponants something to complain about.
in terms of the democrats..obama has not won yet..so that’s obvious
in terms of the republican…good point; maybe it’s strategic…we’ll see!
They’re still working the angles stupid. Just give everything time to settle.
Actually I don’t think they really know for sure.
On the Republican side McCain has said that list is down to 20 (CNN).
The Democrats it would be harder since we do not have a nominee yet and it would sound rather presumptive like Hillary naming Sen. Obama.
I can see why the dems aren’t; they probably have some people in common on their lists!!!!
maybe because it is not time to officially announce that
Because it usually won’t help their votes.
Besides, they don’t want to shoot themselves in the foot either.
Once they win the nomination, they can ponder who would best assist them in getting nominated. Maybe Hillary could be Vice for Obama, or vice versa, and McCain is going to have to choose someone who can balance out his extreme views.
I think they are doing the right thing by waiting and weighing all of their options.
