Can a former president who served two terms still run for vice-candidacy?
Can s/he? I mean, what if you were Bill Clinton and you had already served your two terms, can you really be a vice president? I mean, what if the president dies, doesn’t the constitution say you can’t be president for more than two terms?
Nobody “Runs” to be Vice-President. The VP is selected after a party’s nominee wins their primary. I really don’t don’t know how that would work
22ns Amendment:
No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once.
So I guess a one term president could do it, but a two term president could not take the position.
Nope – because he/she can’t be president again.
The VP must be eligible to be president.
Anyone who already served two terms is not eligible to be president.
