Will the Tea Party eventually splinter off into more militant branches, like the Irish Republican Army did?

   No, because the Tea Party is for:
   1. Small government
   2. Low taxes
   3. Following the Constitution.

   And that is all it stands for and all it will stand for.

   No Pelosi, I don’t see that happening. I’m a VERY active Tea Party person and while there are always some lookie loos who think they’re committed but drop out or someone who thinks we are something we’re not, like a militia of some sort and they drop out, there are just too many of us plain old Americans who love the crap out of the Constitution, Our Founders and this land of the free, home of the brave piece of Earth we live on called America. We’re sick, we’re tired and we’re just not going to take it anymore. I can tell you the Tea Party is just getting started.

   Nice try in comparing the Tea Party to a terrorist organization.

   People in the Tea Party are for a smaller, limited government and a closer following of the Constitution. I can’t see too many issues that would cause it to splinter. The Democratic party is made of people who have many more divergent views than the Tea Party, yet you don’t seem concerned about them splintering.

   I look more for the Democrats to split off into militant branches. AFL-CIO already calls themselves an army ready to “take out the SOB” Tea Party. The CBC is calling for an “occupation” of Freedom Square that is supposed to make runs on banks, close the banks and businesses with human chains. If the Tea Party said something like that, they would be rounded up and hauled off somewhere unpleasant. When members of our own congress call for it, their just upset.

   So no. I think this will unite the Tea Party into more solidarity in the words of the union folks.

    I am a Tea Party member. The emails and the chat/post boards are quite the battle ground, be sure of that. There is no two TP members that think alike. However, the diversity is it’s strength. I feel kinda safe knowing that I am not getting pulled into anything, like the blind loyalty the Germans had to Hitler.

    so, we are already splintered, but in a healthy and respectful way. We are strong that way. It is highly unlikely, very unlikely there will be any REAL TP member that would become militant. We as a group seem pretty content with sitting in our lawn chairs, and letting the left just spin like a top about us!
