Do You Think The Tea Party Movement Would Ever Vote For A True Libertarian Politician?
Do you think the Tea Party would ever vote for a Libertarian politician who is in favor of legalizing prostitution, polygamy, same sex marriage, marijuana, etc. As long as that Libertarian politician is a small government fiscal conservative, would most of them vote for a politician like that ?
This Tea Partier would.
I’m pretty sure many libertarians call themselves Tea Partiers. I do.
It depends. Probably not though … at least not yet. They’re avoiding social issues for the most part in order to draw in a bigger crowd. It’s quite interesting to watch though.
It’s never either or neither.
Sure. I would support anyone who would restore the badly abused US Constitution.
I do. I think you are commingling tea party sentiment with conservatism. While there are overlap boundaries these are related to fiscal management of dollars. On the social side I suspect that there is wide ranging differences. However, since you cannot begin a social issues debate without a sound financial base, we must get that back first.
Movements and Parties don’t vote.
No, the tea party would never go for that.
Who knows?
You obviously don’t understand the movement. When the folks in MA elected Scott Brown (never possible without local tea party enthusiasm), they elected a moderate/liberal. He’s much better than a far Left Kennedy-type, but would never be successful in the red states.
The tea parties are just the majority who have woken up, and will elect the candidate most closely aligned with our founders intent
