First of all, sorry for my poor English (I’m Italian).

Is it a problem if, i.e., an Oxthodox Jew marry a Reform or a Conservative Jew? Or a Shia Muslim marries a Sunni Islam?
I know something about different congregations inside Christianity (it’s a little problem, but it’s not impossible), but I heard nothing about other monotheistic religions.

I don’t really see how Sarah Palin can run a successful family values candidacy and fiercely defend the sanctity of marriage if her own daughter is literally raising a ba*tard in the White House. Will Sarah find a new babydaddy before the 2012 Republican Convention?

Do you think a democrat and a republican could be in a good relationship, get married and have a normal, fairly happy marriage–just like if the couple was two democrats or two republicans?
Why or why not?

Opinion and reason, please :)

Thank you for your answers!

Is a liberal Republican somebody who is fiscally conservative and socially liberal ? Is a Conservative Democrat somebody who is fiscally liberal and socially conservative ? Is a Conservative Democrat somebody who wants socialist style bigger government but is against gay marriage.

I don’t understand this. Seriously. How can people claim to be saved Christians, yet they vote democrat? The democrat party goes against everything God stood for. Higher taxes, abortion, same sex marriage? I just don’t understand. There is this woman in my biology class who claims to be a Christian and votes democrats and I said "Uh, sorry to be the one to tell you, but you are not really saved".

What do you think?

"Moderate" Voters don’t have a major political party since we are ran by a two party system. And I’m starting to believe that there really isn’t a difference between a Republican who is pro-life and supports gay marriage and a Democrat who is fiscally conservative like the Blue Dog Coalition in the House.

If there isn’t really any difference and if Americans are increasingly progressive in social issues yet economically responsible (since our debt is so high), is the line between Democrat and Republican not very big?

If I am a Democrat with conservative views: pro-life, being against gay marriage.. or if I am a if I a Republican with liberal views
would I just be an independent then?

Beyond the historical significance, even if Obama does not win the presidential race I think he and Michelle are leaving a legacy for the African American community, setting a standard concerning marriage and commitment among black people.
