This was a referendum on Bush and the democrats were unfairly targeted. Many great leaders were rejected. Even Blue Dogs were not spared.

Msnbc said during the convention coverage that “Tim Pawlenty is the man of the hour for Republicans” and they were talking about what we could bring to Mccain. Also Mccain chose his vp and said he’d campaign and officially announce his vp nominee tommorow. He’s campaigning with Pawlenty. I’m not aware of Pawlenty and he’s allegedly not very well known. I think it was a bad choice. Mitt Romney would be a bigger pick for the Repubs. The easier the better I suppose :p Obama 2008

I can’t really find any specifics why they came into power.

I know that Luxemburg and Liebknecht were murdered so basically the leaders of the Sparticists were gone meaning the Social Democrats really had no competition for power.

Another reason may be because german people wanted stability, and the Social Democrats were a moderate party, they weren’t extremists.

The financial reform bill that just passed has a clause in it that exempts the SEC from freedom of information act requests when the requests are regarding information related to “surveillance, risk assessments, or other regulatory and oversight activities. But the SEC is a regulatory body, which means that ALL of its business could be classified as regulatory or oversight. At a time when our financial institutions need the closest monitoring by we, the people, the democrats went ahead and wrote a law that allows one of the biggest players in the financial game to ignore our requests. Why on earth did they do this?
