I seen someone else describe them on another post and it struck me as odd but they both seem to have a certain feminine quality to them. What do you think?
I do not mean gay, not that there is anything wrong with it. Just lady like.

I know many liberals who kind of like Ron Paul and can even vote for him. But most Conservatives despise him even though Ron Paul thinks that he is the REAL Conservative, and he is a Republican.

Last time I checked, Romney is Mormon, which means he’ll lose the entire South and 25% of the conservative base anyway. Oh sure, he’ll win Utah for sure, but Utah always votes Republican. Why would you even consider Romney?

If you do run him, don’t be surprised if South Carolina and Georgia go for Obama.

More real conservatives is better even if we lose some seats in the house and senate?
Our message might be stronger if we vote the moderates out?

Because I see no logical explanation as to why anyone would want to vote for him. He has no political experience whatsoever and is merely a radio talk-show host that happens to be Conservative.

I’ve never heard of this guy. And I saw an interview of him on YouTube and nothing about him seemed charismatic or inspirational. If he had political experience, I wouldn’t be asking this question. Obama on the other hand served 7 years in the Illinois State Senate and 4 years in the US Senate – and gave one of the greatest speeches at a National Convention during the 2004 Democratic National Convention. There was a reason to vote for Obama. Herman Cain, I see no reason other than “hey I’m not racist I’ll pretend to support this black guy”.

Reminds me of the GOP selecting Michael Steele as soon as Obama won the nomination just to say “hey we can elect a black guy too”.

John McCain chose Sarah Palin to seem “progressive” by selecting a woman – in response to Obama’s nomination. Because she wasn’t even vetted – he only selected her because she was a woman. A choice that many McCain aides later admitted was a mistake.

Conservatives just felt embarrassed and outdated when they saw the Democrats weren’t sticking with the traditional “old white male” candidates. Just as they had Bobby Jindal give a response to Obama’s first State of the Union speech, which most people, including Jindal himself, admit was a terrible response. Jindal admitted he isn’t a good speaker yet the GOP chose him? Why? To appear more “progressive” and “diverse” than they really are.

So far all I have seen being considered are neocons such as Mitt Romney.
Maudie (below) I appreciate your input, however not considering Romney a neocon would equate to not considering water to be wet.

I definitely want some fresh blood and a real conservative. No Romney, please.

Thoughts on Herman Cain?

The Equalist-
1) Alan Keyes is much more extreme.
2) Please. Klansmen/racists are not all conservatives and also aren’t likely to vote even if they were.

Your hate is disgusting.
Sadcat-
Not true. As you can see, some already do. But we saw Obama’s rise from relative obscurity to the President. A year is PLENTY of time.

I’m really not interested in Rudy G, Mitt, or John McCain. Out of all 3, Rudy is the best on terrorism – but none are good on immigration. What do you think?

Here’s a hypothetical situation.

Let’s say Fred Karger, an openly gay man who supports gay marriage, wins the 2012 Republican primary. Or someone else who supports gay marriage, and/or is pro-choice; basically a liberal republican who wins the Republican primary who is more focused on non-social issues such as the economy.

Who would social conservatives vote for? Obama or the liberal Republican? Or would social conservatives create their own party like the 1948 Truman/Dewey/Thurmond presidential election?
okay, I’m not saying Fred Karger will win. My point, and my question, is who would be more appealing to social conservatives, Obama or a fiscally conservative who supports gay marriage?

There are straight people who believe homosexuals should get married by the way. Brad Pitt, Cher, Seth MacFarlane, Coretta Scott King, Al Shapton to name but a few.

I am a republican myself, but I can’t say that I agree with Paul about allowing businesses to discriminate if they wish to. I believe the rights of individual people should come before the rights of businesses.
