Is there anything similar between Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton?
I see that people are saying that former Hillary Clinton supporters may go to Sarah Palin. Why would they do that? Is there anything similar between Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton? Is it insulting to put these two people in the same category? Hillary Clinton has fought for healthcare, she was First Lady, she is accomplished Lawyer. There two policies are in contrast to each other. Why would a Hillary Clinton supporter vote for Sarah Palin?
Neither has Y chromosomes.
Both born a woman, from a woman.
That’s about it.
Um…. they both have a clitoris, at least I think Hillary does anyway.
McCain is just trying to pander to the Hillary vote…won’t work though
more experienced than Barack
Popular
Women
They both have 2 x chromosomes. That’s the only similarity.
they’re both women. <—-similar
one is sexy. <——–palin
They are complete opposites, from the war to the economy and pro choice vs no choice, why would any Hillary supporter even considered McCain/Palin.
They both have two “X” chromosomes. But let’s face it, lots of folks wanted Hillary just because she was female. You are right though, they shouldn’t be lumped together. Hillary is a lawyer. Palin a Governor. Hillary ‘fought for’ heath care that lots of us DO NOT support. Palin helped throw out crooks, Hillary married a liar who can not even define the word “is”. And last time I checked, being married to someone who has done a job does not qualify you to do it. First Lady…big hairy deal! So, please don’t insult Governor ( not Mrs I was married to a Governor) Palin by lumping her with Hillary!
Anyone who makes the switch from Hillary Clinton to Sarah Palin does not understand the fundamentals of politics and should probably stay very far away from an election booth because they are obviously confused.
They’re both tough, smart and experienced women. The difference between them is that Palin has taken on the “old boys’ network” while Hillary has become part of it.
You can read up on Palin with the links to local Alaska media coverage of the announcement in the special Sarah Palin section on the front page of http://www.USAMediaGuide.com, including a link to the Anchorage newspaper’s biography of her.
Dont insult Hillary with such a question.
Any woman who votes for McCain now just to get a woman in office needs to have her voters card taken away.
There is absolutely no similarity except for the fact that they are both women.
Although (hopefully) the female voters will vote based on issues thare many disgruntled hillary supporters that will vote for mccain simply b/c palin is a woman.
The DNC and the USA media treated
Hillary very badly. If, in retaliation, many Hillary supporters vote for
John and Sarah, it will teach the DNC a lesson they well deserve.
LIke someone said, they are both tough women that know what needs to get done. They have different goals, but they share that in common.
And a Hillary supporter would go for Palin because Palin is HUGE on change. The Alaskan economy has been reformed in just the TWO YEARS that she’s been governer. And she has an 80% approval rating.
You can’t do much better than that!
1) No. they are not. DONT VOTE FOR MCAIN. he ONLY met her 2-3 times before he selected her. He doesn’t even know her.
2) She got a seat in congress 2006!!, HIllary?? 2000!! So what year is it now???? 2008?? only TWO YEARS IN CONGRESS??
3)she has NO EXPERIENCE
4) NOTHING LIKE HILLARY. she is AGASINT abortion. so i have NO CLUE why women are considering voting for her.
here is a website that sums up the difference between Hillary and Palin.

No. Check this out:
She was elected Alaska ‘s governor a little over a year and a half ago. Her previous office was mayor of Wasilla, a small town outside Anchorage. She has no foreign policy experience.
1. Palin is strongly anti-choice, opposing abortion even in the case of rape or incest.
2. She supported right-wing extremist Pat Buchanan for president in 2000.
3. Palin thinks creationism should be taught in public schools.
4. She’s doesn’t think humans are the cause of climate change.
5. She’s solidly in line with John McCain’s “Big Oil first” energy policy. She’s pushed hard for more oil drilling and says renewables won’t be ready for years. She also sued the Bush administration for listing polar bears as an endangered species—she was worried it would interfere with more oil drilling in Alaska.
6.How closely did John McCain vet this choice? He met Sarah Palin once at a meeting. They spoke a second time, last Sunday, when he called her about being vice-president. Then he offered her the position.
We also asked Alaska residents what the rest of us should know about their governor. The response was striking. Here’s a sample:
She is really just a mayor from a small town outside Anchorage who has been a governor for only 1.5 years, and has ZERO national and international experience. I shudder to think that she could be the person taking that 3AM call on the White House hotline, and the one who could potentially be charged with leading the US in the volatile international scene that exists today. —Rose M., Fairbanks, AK
She is VERY, VERY conservative, and far from perfect. She’s a hunter and fisherwoman, but votes against the environment again and again. She ran on ethics reform, but is currently under investigation for several charges involving hiring and firing of state officials. She has NO experience beyond Alaska. —Christine B., Denali Park, AK
As an Alaskan and a feminist, I am beyond words at this announcement. Palin is not a feminist, and she is not the reformer she claims to be. —Karen L., Anchorage, AK
Alaskans, collectively, are just as stunned as the rest of the nation. She is doing well running our State, but is totally inexperienced on the national level, and very much unequipped to run the nation, if it came to that. She is as far right as one can get, which has already been communicated on the news. In our office of thirty employees (dems, republicans, and nonpartisans), not one person feels she is ready for the V.P. position.—Sherry C., Anchorage, AK
She’s vehemently anti-choice and doesn’t care about protecting our natural resources, even though she has worked as a fisherman. McCain chose her to pick up the Hillary voters, but Palin is no Hillary. —Marina L., Juneau, AK
I think she’s far too inexperienced to be in this position. I’m all for a woman in the White House, but not one who hasn’t done anything to deserve it. There are far many other women who have worked their way up and have much more experience that would have been better choices. This is a patronizing decision on John McCain’s part- and insulting to females everywhere that he would assume he’ll get our vote by putting “A Woman” in that position.—Jennifer M., Anchorage, AK
Palin’s “…articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking…”
http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/01/31/b...
AND CHANGE NOT another Lawyer!
There are no similarities between the two other than they are both women. I find it absolutly demeaning as a woman that they are even going for the female vote. The two are such different candidates.
She has no experience in world politics. She is a right winged evangelical nut.
She is a member of Dominions church. The Dominionist’s have a tendency among some conservative politically-active Christians, especially in the US, to seek influence or control over secular civil government through political action — aiming either at a nation governed by Christians, or a nation governed by a conservative Christian understanding of biblical law. The use and application of this terminology is a matter of controversy.
She is so pro life that she wants to criminalize abortion, and even opposes most methods of birth control.
She is a woman that believes the government has the right to tell us what to do with our bodies. I’m very scared that there is a chance that if McCain were elected and something happened to him she would be the President. It is literally keeping me up at night.
She is also under investigation for Abuse of Power in Alaska. She had a member of her cabinet fired bc of wanting to out her ex brother in law from the State Troopers. Sooo trashy.
She was quoted on MSNBC saying, “What does a VP do?”
She’s just not right for America.
Please before you vote be sure that you are informed.
Because some spiteful women may cut off their noses to spite their faces. I think its insulting that the McCain camp believes that any woman is as good as Hillary Clinton. Choosing Sarah Palin for VP because she’s a woman is as bad and as transparent as choosing JC Watts because he’s Black. I’m not going to fall for it. Clinton supporters need to know that Sarah Palin leans as far right on womens issues as Hillary leans left.
BTW is she really qualified to be a heartbeat away?
From newspapers in Palin’s own state (a traditionally Republican bastion, it’s a red state):
From the Saturday Daily News-Miner in Fairbanks:
“Sen. John McCain’s selection of Gov. Sarah Palin as his vice presidential running mate was a stunning decision that should make Alaskans proud, even while we wonder about the actual merits of the choice…. Alaskans and Americans must ask, though, whether she should become vice president and, more importantly, be placed first in line to become president. ”
Anchorage Daily News:
“It’s stunning that someone with so little national and international experience might be heartbeat away from the presidency.
Gov. Palin is a classic Alaska story. She is an example of the opportunity our state offers to those with talent, initiative and determination…
McCain picked Palin despite a recent blemish on her ethically pure resume. While she was governor, members of her family and staff tried to get her ex-brother-in-law fired from the Alaska State Troopers. Her public safety commissioner would not do so; she forced him out, supposedly for other reasons. While she runs for vice-president, the Legislature has an investigator on the case.
For all those advantages, Palin joins the ticket with one huge weakness: She’s a total beginner on national and international issues.”
The only thing that is the same is that they are both women.
HILLARY AND sARAH ARE opposites.
Look how well she raised Chelsey.
Hey MtMister
I did not find Sarah Palin in the Congressional member catalog, maybe she does not even have experience in congress since 2006?
You can edit your answer, but you know it.
Please. It’s INSULTING that people think Hillary supporters will vote for Palin just because she is a woman.
As someone who voted for Hillary in the primary, I voted for her because of the things she stood for not because of her gender. Yes, it was very inspirational to have a strong woman candidate, but that was not the reason I voted for her.
Mccain must really think women are stupid if he thinks we would fall for such a thing. It’s just insulting. Palin stands against everything that Hillary stands for.
