@davitodude The government IS controlled by the people. The problem ONLY arises when you have republicans who want corporations to be FREE to influence government. The shareholders are citizens that get a VOTE already. That is the ONLY influence they should get PERIOD! This is PRECISELY what the French Revolution was about and where the term Left-Wing came from. One VOTE per citizen. The only way to ensure this in OUR Democracy, is HEAVY regulation and oversight.

He wants the influence to be in favor of the people not the government. And Ron Paul has been saying this since the 70′s NOT the 90′s. As a citizen who is not employed by the government I think transparency from the government is needed. Why should anything within the government or controlled by it not be held accountable for it’s mistakes?
Ron Paul sounds confused. The Fed isn’t independent of influence from the Gov. OR Wall Street? DUH. There is no such thing in REALITY, Ron. You ARE the government and want INFLUENCE??? WE are the government, and WANT influence.
