How can we get Ron Paul to run as a third party candidate?
I know he doesn’t want to run as a third party but I believe this is his best and only chance. Not just to win, but to get his message out. I personally know a handful of people who will vote Ron Paul if he goes third party. With the 3 stooges that hold the headlines, there are millions on the fence who will blindly vote Dem/Rep simply to keep the other Dem/Rep out of office.
Not only that, but as a third party candidate, Ron Paul will get more publicity (or SOME for that matter.)
Figure that out and let me know, I’d vote for him.
Paul, Paul, went to the Mall
ate a cupcake
and said he was tall.
He’s one guy who doesn’t need psychedelic drugs!
There’s gotta be a way. Hell, he is a RINO anyway. I’d vote for him in a second.
I think Cafferty said it best. “Ron Paul is still running but nobody cares.”
Understand that Paul never had a chance and the primary purpose of his campaign was just to get his message out about how he feels about the current state of the nation.
Form a new party and draft him, I am an Obama supporter but would vote for Ron in a heart beat if he was a 3rd party candidate
There’s a write in campaign, but to be honest, I think the more the GOP disenfranchises his delegates, the more likely it is to happen. There are thousands of people putting in a ton of work for Dr. Paul, and I think seeing them get unfairly disenfranchised is more likely than anything to set him on that course.
It is our revolution, and we asked him to lead. So far he’s gone along with us, being a duty bound sort of person.
I hate to push him. What if it impacts his Congressional seat? But boy would I ever contribute and volunteer for him. And of course, vote for him.

Zorcan, thank you for that profound addition to the discourse.
Unfortunately you can’t convince media to change their opinions. It’s sad that whoever THEY decide to cover wins because some people have never even heard of Ron Paul. I’m sure a lot of the older generation would vote for him if they knew about him, along with the younger generation that already want him.
I’ve been telling everyone I know about Ron Paul…I honestly don’t understand how any responsible American can’t love this guy, but for some reason they won’t take him seriously.
I do think if he would run as a third party candidate he would get more publicity from debates because his audience would be more than just Republicans and he wouldn’t have 7 other politicians staring at RP like he had five heads saying, “But what about al Qaeda in Iraq and WMDs? You must hate America.”
From the point of view of a South African living in the UK, it breaks my heart to see the US letting Ron Paul slip through its fingers.
It seems that as a Republican Ron Paul has no chance, and therefore must run as a third party candidate.
Surely the message, the principles and the future of the US people are more important than party loyalty.
With our current system, a 3rd party is a wasted vote. The winner-take-all nature of the Electoral College forces out narrow focus, limited appeal candidates.
However, if a 3rd party was to make a go of it, there is a way. It would involve getting a large number of like minded people to move to a sparsely populated state that already has favorable inclinations. Christian Conservatives to SC, Environmentalists to OR or WA, socialists to VT, etc. Then, get candidates to run for statewide office; governor, senator, etc. Then when the presidential election comes around, run that candidate with the intention not so much of winning the presidency, but winning the state. Removing that states electoral votes will generate the kind of recognition that will force the other two parties to address the 3rd party’s concerns.
Ron Paul WILL run as an independent. If you’ve listened to him answer that question, he said, “no, no, I don’t PLAN on it.” But it’s the only way.
You just got to keep spreading the truth!
You think Ron Paul has a chance of winning?? I’m personally sick of still seeing “RON PAUL” signs all over the place. The guy lost. End of story. I should bust out a Dukakis 1988 sign or something.
America will never elect a third party candidate either. It’s unfortunate, because I would much rather see real competition rather than the normal choice of “lesser of two evils” which will be known in the future as “lesser of two evils that isn’t Bush”
If Ron Paul ran for a third party he would lose his seat in congress, whatever kind of influence he has over congressional proceedings would be lost, I hope he never runs third party, because he would lose everything, and his supporters would have no voice in congress.
