The Republicans that have decided to vote for Barr, are they the only intelligent Republicans left?
I’m a democrat, but if I were a republican, I would probably vote Barr. Has anyone else noticed that the Republicans that support Barr are the Republicans that make the most sense to the Democrats? the Barr supporters and the Democrats could sit down and have an intelligent conversation.
whats your thoughts?
Actually, anyone who votes for the candidate that best represents the voter’s views and who the voter thinks will serve most effectively as our President is voting intelligently.
The only people who are unintelligent are those who vote based on race, gender, religion or those who blindly vote for one party over another regardless of the candidates or their qualifications.
This is America and everyone is entitled to their own opinions. And people of differing opinions can always have an intelligent conversation as long as they respect each other’s opinions and are committed to keeping it civil.
Thankyou for your input, but you aren’t a Republican so that really doesn’t help.
I believe Bob Barr is going to pull a lot of conservative voters away from McCain, and that is why Obama will become the next president of the United States.
To answer your question, do you really care if they are the only intelligent Republicans left?
Republicans that want to vote for Barr recognize that he is far more conservative than McCain and would be far better for America.
Republicans that actually do vote for Barr are deluding themselves and ensuring an Obama win. There is no possible way for Barr to win, nobody denies that. McCain is the lesser of two evils, but a vote for Barr ensures that the greater of two evils wins. That is foolish.
The intelligent Republicans want to vote for Barr, but won’t.
I haven’t met one Barr supporter.
What’s wrong with McCain? He’s the most politically experienced candidate we’ve had in a long time.
Actually, the intelligent Republicans are the ones voting for Obama. Evidently, from the polls, there appear to be many more intelligent Republicans than one would have thought.
I guess they learned something from the last two elections. Who says that you can’t teach a sneech.
I know what you mean, though it has less to do with a mutual understanding of political philosophy and more to do with fighting the current political establishment. There is this stigma among progressives and liberals that being a libertarian is more acceptable than being a neo-conservative, despite libertarian ideology being more at odds with modern liberalism than actual neo-conservatism. I think it has to do with Libertarians never gaining a foothold in this country’s political decisions.
In my opinion, that is probably best for both their party and this country as a whole. In modern politics, libertarianism is a joke. The reason that it is a joke is because it is so idealistic, so naive, and so short-sighted that one who has any understanding of history and human nature cannot help but scoff. If implemented, this political philosophy would be exposed not only for its ignorance, but for how dangerous it really is to the common middle-class working citizen.
Recent Libertarians such as Barr and Ron Paul have captured the language of progressive politics to entice a group of people that would be devastated by the implementation of their proposed policies. They have learned how to spin such anti-progressive politics in a web of grandeur and nationalism that it deceives many of the young people that support them. It’s just sad to me that so many people defend libertarianism with such vehemence when they do not understand the real implications of its politics.
not when there’s Obama
any true conservative could never vote for a lib like McCain..we have only 1 choice Barr 08
