Why should i have to change my democrat status to vote in november for who i want?
im a democrat and when i was confronted at the polls with conflict about who i wanted to vote for in november, the lady said i needed to not put democrat but open if i wanted to select who i wanted. that is why the stats show republican dominate the polls. sucks, eh? this was in Palin’s hometown of wasilla where i voted. maybe i should have voted in anchorage.
I am not sure that the woman at the polls was being correct.
If you were voting in a closed primary then your party affiliation would matter.
In an open, general election party affiliation is not relevant – all the candidates are listed.
