Why did blacks switch to the Democrats, when a Democrat attacked them with police dogs in 1963?

Whу dіd everybody forget thаt Bull Connor wаѕ a life-long DEMOCRAT????
Hе lived until 1973. Hе NEVER joined thе Republican party.
If blacks knew іt wаѕ a Democrat attacking thеm wіth police dogs, wουld thеу hаνе still switched tο thе Democrat party?
No, those who vote for democrats are the ones who are only interested in the entitlement programs that the Dems are always pushing.
That was when democrats were socially conservative and mostly white southerns

Some would of still switched of course. Democrats unfortunately have been excellent at making minority groups reckon that they will work in their best interests.
They switched because so called black " leaders " like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton told them to.
These two were given political power by the Dems to bring in the black vote – and they have delivered.
Believe it or not back in the 1800′s republicans supported african americans so your right, it is incredibly odd why they would turn there backs!
The actions of an individual do not represent the whole group. That is the lesson we are all still learning when it comes to race today.
Dems forget alot of things.
There are those that would have you believe that: at some point in U.S. History there was an ideological shift (or trade) between the two parties. This is not right. This is part of the revisionist history that the progressives place forth as actual history.
"Democrats" didn’t sic dogs on black folks in the 60′s. Neither did "republicans". Racists did that. Racists that just happened to have most of the power in the government in the south at that time. Racism doesn’t care who you vote for. R or D. It makes no difference. If you’re a racist piece of sh*t then you’re a racist piece of sh*t.
