Which would surprise you more, a conservative Democrat or a liberal Republican?
Mοѕt Democrats аrе liberal аnd mοѕt Republicans аrе conservative, уеt exceptions dο exist. Whісh wουld surprise уου more, іf a Democrat wаѕ conservative οr іf a Republican wаѕ a liberal? If уου hаd tο сhοοѕе between thе two іn a vote, thеn whο wουld уου vote fοr? Discuss аnd сlаrіfу уουr аnѕwеrѕ.
Hung H: thе Republican nominee іѕ a moderate, nοt liberal.
Uptown: Clinton, a conservative? I doubt thаt. Aѕ fοr McCain, hе іѕ a moderate, nοt a liberal.
I know some Conservative dem’s and I know a few Rep liberals. So I would say I’m not surpise.
McCain isn’t a moderate. McCain is a neoCon and I don’t place a spin on the word Con. You know Con Job.
Neither would.
I have seen liberal Republicans; one of them is the party’s nominee. But I have yet to see a conservative Democrat. Zel Miller is moderate and looks like Attila the Hun compared to the pack of leftist hippies that control the Democratic party but he is merely conservative by comparison.
Brad Henry Governor from Oklahoma is a Democrat and might be considered conservative elsewhere but the definition of conservative is a lot different in Oklahoma than in the rest of the world. I could see voting for him as President.
a liberal republican would surprise me
A compassionate Republican would probably surprise me most right about now.
I reckon a liberal republican would surprise me more. Only because I feel they use clout of other rich conservatives that get them the funds to get elected.
They don’t want to turn against their "friends".
McCain is a Liberal Republican and Hillary Clinton is a Conservative Democrat.
Liberal republicans seem to be of a rare breed. McCain himself has been accused of being in that category before; he seems to be bending uncharacteristically towards the right now… at least for the purposes of this election.
Obama is as liberal as it gets… so it would be highly unlikely to expect he will get any republican votes at all in the general election.
Hillary is technically in the liberal category, but she’s more conservative than Obama; she’s even more conservative than her husband Bill was.
So, if McCain falls off *the right-wing wagon* during this campaign, and upsets the neo-con’s… there is a small chance some of them might bail on him and vote for Hillary in protest. These people will never come out to support Obama though… that will never happen.
If Obama is the nominee, there will be plenty of disgruntled Democrat’s voting for John McCain in November; that will really be frighteningly common under this scenario. (Sad too, since this election should have been *in the bag* for democrats)
Uptown – what sort of liberal would seek the endorsement of this lunatic.
