What sould i choose rebulican or democrat?
My mother and father r divorced and theyre both very much into politics. but my mother is a democrat and my father is a rebulican, they have totally different views. and now that im like 18 they want me to choose but i cant, i want to make them both happy! Help
Sweetie,you never give away your vote for free! Make them earn it.You may identify more strongly with one party than the other, but, you stay independent and follow your own heart not some trends or talking points of either party.That is why we are in the mess we are in now,because people didn’t demand from their elected officials clarity in where they stand on issues that affect our very lives.

If you are smart you will become a quiet, but insurgent conservative democrat (center-left) most educated people are. Align yourself with the democrats but always maintain your positions.
You don’t have to sucker for either one. Go Independent and rise above the garbage mentality of the two major parties.
It isnt as easy as it used to be. You cannot split the line down the middle anymore. Your gut feeling will usually lead you in the right direction. Just pick!!!
It is a little to late now but you should choose democratic party because they have the peoples word in mind and they help the needy not the greedy like republicans do.

Look how much good choosing sides did for them, they’re divorced. If your declined to the state you can choose your own path.

Seriously, don’t feel forced to choose sides. Tell them you are going to form your own opinions rather than looking to a party platform to tell you what to think.
Just remember this: Democrats are usually Liberals. They take your money and freedom in tricky and obscure ways and then give some of it back if you do certain things they want you to do.
When you go to get a student loan and go to college, you will encounter many liberals that want you to think that they personally gave you that college money. They took it from your parents and all that money and more will be taken from you some day and given to others. When you take the college courses you should ask yourself if you would be willing to spend, say, 2-4 thousand dollars per course of your own money (count fees, books and time you could spend on a job "opportunity cost") to learn what you could read in a library book and what else you would rather be doing with all that money. You are taking extra classes in order to graduate and go to a career-many you will never need in real life, because Liberals are giving you some of the money you plan on making in the future back for doing something they want you to do.
You don’t have to choose either party or you can register as an Independent. But before you do anything check with your state laws because what you decide may make a difference on who you can vote for in primary elections. For example, in my state if I register as a democrat but I think a republican is actually better candidate in the primary election I can not vote for the republican unless I switch on my voter registration card to republican.
No one should be forced into a political party. Tell your parents that YOU are not something to be used in their petty fight. Both of your parents should be ashamed and both parties should tell your parents to take a hike.

You should not choose a party to make your mother or father happy. You choose based on your own beliefs…but then. Idon’t think you really need for me to be telling you this,do you ? Oh, you might get your mom & dad to help you with your spelling.
Study a bit of history (and spelling…lol…no offense/many college kids don’t spell very well either), and you might find the answer to your question on your own. I’m a solid Democrat, but I get annoyed with my Dems if they don’t show spunk in getting their legislative agendas through in a timely way (as now with the necessary health care and insurance reforms that are in committee. Democrats have always been consumer and family friendly more often Republicans, who tend to cater to the already-wealthy or billionaire corporations while neglecting the general population. Most of our treasured social programs, including civil rights, workers’ rights, child labor laws, Social Security, welfare assistance, Pell Grants for college, women’s rights, voters’ rights, equal pay for equal work rules, food safety programs, worker safety programs (like OSHA), and many other things of this nature come to use from Democrats. I absolutely LOVE President Obama and his administration, and was proud to have voted for him in 2008…he’s well on his way to being the best president this nation has ever had. My personal opinion is you should keep an open mind, pay lots of attention to current events, learn to differentiate between propaganda and facts, and then make informed choices…and I do recommend that you consider being at least a moderate or liberal Democrat…lol. Ultimately, only you can decide each year there is an election.
Choose what you want to choose because you want to. There are more more than two parties.

i could tell you why you should be one or the other because i’ve been passionately involved in our country’s politics for a number of years and i can tell you there is a distinct difference of the two. i suggest you take alittle time and do a research. and i’m not copping out. i’m a republican and this is one reason. democrats believe the government is the be all and the end all. i don’t. people, just everyday ordinary people such as yourself putting our heads together can and do solve problems better than a mass of minds going in different directions. that is, the government. one more reason. i am retired now but worked hard for my money. on several occasions working two jobs. the democrats hold to the belief that raising taxes, taking my hard earned money, is my responsibility. that’s absurd. i apologize if it seems like i’m ranting. you may not remember this, but when the democrats raised taxes on s.s.i. reciepients my father’s monthly check was only 475.00. just barely making ends meet. why would anyone, always making the point that american people are of great concern, do something as cruel as that. good luck!

If you register Republican or Democrat you will not have a choice on you’re ballot when you vote on who to choose, you can not vote out of you’re own party.
You can only vote for someone in you’re own party or leave the voting check box empty
If you register Independent you will have a whole ballot with every candidate with the right to decide who the best person should be not their political party.
