What is the main reason that a lifelong Democrat would not support Obama?
Thеу mostly believe іn Democratic values. And I mean a Democrat whο′s voted Democrat thеіr whole life.

They support the values so long as the man representing them looks familiar…
Race… unfortunately. It shouldn’t make a difference but I have been amazed at the amount of racism that has popped-up in Yahoo! Answers. I have reported as many as I could!
Is this a trick question?
I’ve wondered the same thing many times.
The first poster is probably right. I can’t reckon of any other reason why a lifelong Democrat would choose this election to switch parties.
Talking out the side of your mouth.Obama is ahead in all polls That must mean lifetime republicans are supporting obama
He doesn’t pass the smell test.
That would mean that this person has been cured of brain hurt.
Both parties find their shares of moderates, people who lean just enough to the left or the right to affiliate themselves with a party. For some of the moderate Democrats, I can see how an extremely left-leaning candidate could turn them off like that.
Main REASON they do not like blacks
If not a racists then other reasons are:
1. His wife is a racists
2. He might be a muslim
3. Rev. Jackson and Al Sharpton will be in his Administration
4. Corrupt
5. He will spread the wealth to people who do not pay taxes
He/she is a smart Democrat.
Military background
The Democratic party has been pulled a long way to the left since the 60s. There are a lot of people that have always been Democrats that don’t recognize their party anymore.
Obama is on the far left edge of the party. Last time a left leaning Democrat won was Carter. Clinton was a centrist.
Well a main thing really isn’t race contray to what so many ppl reckon. It’s more the issue of Obama himself.
For instance his support of Abortion absolutley makes me SICK! he feels if a parent finds out a child is down sindrum they should be killed imeaditly! he feels that even they shpuld be killed after they have been born!
Also other of his libral thoughts have other hard core librals sinking away in dread of his thoughts like the one above!
ps. they have finally pulled their brains from out of their butt and place them back in thier heads.
How about a few Republicans that support Obama.
Christopher Buckley, GHW Bush’s main speech writer, on endorsing Obama said, "What on earth was Mccain thinking in nominating Palin?
Colin Powell, a decorated 4 star Gen., Secretary of State, and Defense under the current president said of Obama, "Experience is helpful, but it is judgement that matters." And on Palin, "I don’t believe she is ready to be president, which is the Job of the Vice President."
Ken Adelman, a Republican hawk who served in top Diplomatic and Defense posts for 3 Presidents, Ford, Reagan, and GHW Bush, said the choice of Palin made him switch to Obama.
This lifelong Democrat would not support Obama. I first voted in 1972 for George McGovern and last voted for Kerry. But I won’t vote for Obama for the following reasons:
1) He’s too far Left, the most liberal member of Senate.
2) Hillary deserved the number 1 spot more and the activists and media shut her out.
3) He didn’t choose her for VP although she deserved it. She would have chosen him if she won the primaries.
4) Ayers and Rev. Wright. No prime-time candidates for president ever had such radical associations.
Because that life long Democrat had dual status as a life long racist.
