What are your thoughts on a devout Democrat telling me she will leave America if Hillary Or Obama wins?
Are many Democrats fed up with socialist "Cubanists" representing their Democrat party?
Are many Democrats fed up with socialist "Cubanists" representing their Democrat party?
Methinks she has seen past the brainwashing adages of the -" WE" can help your suffering /poverty/lack of funds to buy plasma TV’s like "everybody else"..and GET Free services for ALL paid for by the government ….etc
–In its time the Dem party did try to uplift /support the folks trying to work hard /achieve their goals/desires… but they were co-opted by the political ideology of …socialism =equality=everyone gets what they need=masses of votes all under the guise of doing whats "good" and "right".
…..
Neither Clinton or Obama can or would change the need to cater to the "significant people, corporations and unions, etc,." that bring in the $$ to fuel the war chests and insure their perk filled, prestigious "jobs" at the taxpayers expense.
—approx 11,000 pork projects in the Dem congress all used to buy "support". The masses can be managed and duped into believing that without them they would be suffering more., forced to work for a living or forced to acquire new skills to pay their rent, buy their food, etc.
–Unfortunately this devout Dem is not alone. Obama,Edwards or Clinton all believe and KNOW that their power is tied to their "significant others" since they are the only ones that can deliver the $$$!!the support/contributions can then be used to purchase power &prestige The nation and its people are an burden than can always be "massaged/ managed/ duped". Maybe, Some Dems are finally waking up to the fact that the Dem party looks out for ITSELF first and makes promises which may or may not ever be delivered because the xxxx is to blame…
You mean again?
Tell her we wish her well….oh, and to take Bushie Jr with her
Most democrats seem to like it. I admire your friend even more for respecting American values. Hopefully he/she will stay and make changes to the democratic party.
They won’t leave; they never do…wish ful thinking on our (right wing) part.
Tell your closed-minded friend to make sure she has her passport handy.
They have been making the same statements for years, but to date I know of none that have been true to their word. Dang it!
We’ll see. I’m hearing a lot of Democrats support McCain….which I guess is good for him, since Republicans don’t support him. Your friend needs to stay and fight for her country and rid the democrat party of the socialist. There has to be a decent real Democrat left somewhere.
I think it is good that Democrats are self-deporting themselves.
Her choice.
Wish her well for me, and a safe journey.
I don’t know what you mean by the second question—socialist "Cubanist" (??).
As for the first question, sorry to say, my thoughts are kind of like your friend’s. I wouldn’t leave the country, but I would feel kind of despondent.
she lied……..
Not much to think about really. If all the radicals leave that say they will if she gets elected, I will see it as Forrest Gump did. One less thing.
That is her choice
Just as it is our choice on who we vote for
And put our support behind for the job.
Clinton 08
Sounds like you’re both confused, but she considerably racist and anti human, the kind of Dem the rest of us will give to Republican
libs are evil are they worship the devil.
I don’t want to sound cynical, but what reason would anyone have to leave the United States because of who the people decide to elect as president?
The president doesn’t have the powers most people attribute to the office. The president cannot declare war. The president cannot pass legislation or even stop legislation if a large enough majority of the legislature wants a bill passed. The president is not responsible for making the budget; that is the legislature’s job according to the constitution.
The genious of our political system covers a myriad of scenarios that protect us from our government. With rare exception, the American people tend to elect a president of a different party than the party occupying the legislature.
When both of these branches of the government (Administrative and Legislative) are controlled by the same party, it is generally only temporarily until the next election. Usually, the party in the majority in the legislature is by a slim lead, and often the house and senate are controlled by different parties when that happens.
Even if the majority of the electorate is made up of ignorant people who do not understand any of the issues and cast votes based upon things like a persons, height, hair style, race, religion, sex, the sound of their voice, or how they spell their name; becasue of the size of our government and the way it is divided, the law of averages tends to even out the odds.
So no matter what happens, about the worst that ever happens is that there is more bickering and gridlock in the capital, and the rest of us just live our lives. When things get really critical, either the politicians step up to the plate and do what needs to be done, or the people step up and overthrow the current government with their votes.
Since we have the freedom to argue both sides of every issue to influence the masses, only tenacity is necessary to overcome an opposing view. We will never run out of newly tenacious people to argue both sides.
Finally, throw in the fringe parties, and all kinds of of other scenarios emerge. Yes, people succomb to manipulation. Yes, sometimes the people choose a bad candidate to fill an office. But there are just as many good ones chosen to occupy other offices to counter this problem.
We have just the right amount of government control, states’ rights, and individual rights to keep things in balance most of the time. I never get discouraged by who gets elected to a particular office, becasue I have so many other options to achieve whatever political goals I might have.
If an overwhelming majority of our legislature (and that includes both parties) had not voted to go to war in Iraq, we wouldn’t be there. Face it, even if John Kerry and John Edwards had won the last election, we would still be in Iraq today.
So, continue to be tenacious, express your opinions, treat your opponents with respect (even if you don’t respect their ideas), and we can all still continue to win. Our system is pure genious!
