Since a Democrat led Congress has a 70% Disapproval rating, why would you vote another Democrat in office?
The Democrats that got elected based on the ending the Iraq War and pulling the troops out of the Middle East, have a rating that is below that of President Bush. Why would you vote for a Democrat who is running on the same premise?
To the people that say Bush has a lower rating, you are flat out wrong. Whether you like Bush or not his approval rating is better than the Congress.
Bush 30.8% approval and 64.7% disapproval.
Congress 22.0% approval and 70% disapproval.

And do you recall what the disapproval rating of the GOP controlled congress was, just prior to the 2006 elections, which led to the change in party leadership?

Bush’s approval rating is 28% they are a little above Bush. A Democrat will still be elected as President no matter how low the approval rating is of the current Congress. We can’t afford anymore Republicans running this country.
That is more of a local situation. At home they have higher approval ratings than our GOP candidates.
I think a low rating isn’t necessarily an indicator of the party itself but an indicator that our political party system is messed up… It’s not like the Republicans would have any hirer of an approval rating. It has nothing to do with the party… it has more to do with the system.
I have voted for Democratic presidents before.
What I won’t vote for is known liars. Known bigots & racists. Socialists. Ultra-left wingers (or ultra-right wingers for that matter).

Well the president is a veto kind of guy. If it isn’t taking more money out of my pocket, helping an American in some fashion, or not part of the ethnic cleansing going on in the Middle East — Bush will veto.
So in order to have an effective democratic congress, we need an effective democratic president. Not a president that is obsessed with bankrupting the nation for war. So go ahead and vote for more of the same failing republican policies that you will get with Insane McCain. I love my country too much to waste another 4 years on a republican who will veto anything that will spend American money on American citizens. I especially love how it is okay by war lovers to spend 12 BILLION dollars a month on Iraq, but if we put that some amount of money towards ourselves we become communists. That makes sense.

If people want real change, they’ll vote Ron Paul. He would work to change our entire foreign policy to non-interventionist as our Founding Fathers instructed: Friends with all nations, trade with all nations but stay out of their politics.

Just because the Democrats have one more vote than the Republicans, it doesnt make ANYTHING happen. If anything, being this close, and having a fake Republican president, it makes it harder for anything to get done now. Look at the immigration bill that will never be decided on….. which leaves it open to destroy our country, all the while benefitting the rich and both parties in congress because they can just blame the other party……. And we still believe them!!!
The Democrats may have the majority, but you need more than that to change laws when the repubs vote as a block nothing gets through and those that do are vetoed…..But of course you already knew that didn’t you. Be a repub that take responsibility for a change. See what happens when the Democrats have a 60% congress.
Because they only have a slight minority which is not enough to get something passed or to overrule the presidents veto. Their hands are still tied because the republicans are filibustering and voting down laws just to make the Democrats look bad.

Barack Obama… who is a lying racist bigot who has as much experience running the country as I do. He’s got ridiculously naive ideas about handling the Middle East crisis and the only thing keeping him in the race is that he’s got Hillary as an opponent… oh, and a lot of people are so ignorant that they buy his BS with his smile.
Hillary Clinton… the liar herself, who should have taken some lessons in lying from Bill because she sucks at it. She has no experience, either… and her socialist programs will be more destructive to this nation than five more wars could dream of being. Her ability to handle the healthcare crisis is evident from her failed attempt in 1993 that actually made the situation worse.
Now, McCain is no Conservative, but he beats these two clowns… and maybe he’ll pick a good running mate who can have some effect on him.
Because if we get stuck with either of the whackjobs on the Left… the next four years will be the worst in American history and will surely be marked by another attack here in America by Islamist extremists. The Government is supposed to keep us safe, not babysit us. Defense, not coddling.
The question should be why would you vote for ANY incumbent Congressperson? It doesn’t matter if they are Democrat or Republican.

Right now there is so much partisan politics going on all of them should be spanked. And I can’t think of a better way to spank them than by sending them back home.
But you are right, the President’s approval rating is low, but the approval rating for Congress is even lower. After this year Bush won’t be the President any longer. However amoung incumbents running for office even with their low over all approval rating in the basement, I’m making a prediction that 95% of them will get re-elected.

My husband is a Marnie and most of my best friends are in one of the branches of active service. I would vote for anyone but Bush who said that they would work to pull troops out and resolve the conflict overseas. I have spent to many nights worrying about friends, jumping every time the phone rings hoping that its not bad news about someone i care about getting hurt or my husbands command calling him to tell him that he is being deployed. In fact, one of my best friends who is always there for me just got back from a deployment and is gearing up to go again in a few months. The Army is actually trying to up the deployment length. right now it goes from 6 to 12 months. They are trying to get it lengthened to a year and a half. I’m sorry, but I’m tired of watching my neighbors crying on almost a daily basis because their husbands are getting deployed. I have had about 30 new neighbors in the last year because of deployments. It’s not fair to the families to suffer because some dill-weed who is sitting in a pretty white house who is completely SAFE to tell fathers and mothers, sisters and brothers that they have to go over and risk their lives just so he can finish his dad’s business. I know that it is their responsibility because they signed the contract, but still. All I can say is that anybody that supports keeping troops in Iraq and all over the middle east obviously have no one that they really love over there, and they don’t know what its like dreading answering the phone or the door. And I really dont care how many thumbs downs i get.
Also, to all of you people who support troops overseas, do you want to be the ones that tell children all over the world that their mommy ore daddy is never coming home because he’s dead. No you don’t do you. Well this is a reality that all Military spouses with children face. If you have any suggestions that will make telling a 5 year old that their mom or dad is dead easier, well then I’m sure a lot of people are all ears.
Nope. When those democrats run in the last election the tried very hard to convince the people that they were a new breed of conservative democrat. Either they lied or Pelosi and Reed shut them up, never to be heard from again.
I won’t vote for a democrat until they ditch the far left extremists who now control the party. If then. Look at the two socialists they are running for president. If I wanted to be socialist, I’d move to Russia or China.
