The whole point of being independent is to vote for the best candidate, regardless of party. So of course I’d vote for one or the other.
This year it’s Obama.
Of course they would.
Of course. I’m registered as an independent. That means I am not affiliated with either party, it does not mean I do not disagree with the views and policies of them.
Incidentally, I usually vote for republicans.
Yes, Ive voted for both Republicans and Democrats.
Im independent because neither party fully represents my views. For example, Im pro-gun and pro-choice.
I was a registered Independent for 45 years, and in that time I voted for both, however I am now a registered Democrat, and never again will I vote for a republican N E V E R
Why ? Because of what the PNAC has done to the G.O.P..
Party affiliation does not matter to me. I vote Pro-life, Conservative, and small government in that order.
Yes. I voted for Bill Clinton and I supported Regan even though I was too young to vote at the time.
I just don’t believe that there has been a Democratic or Republican candidate worthy of my vote since Clinton, so I have been supporting third parties since 2000. Give me a qualified Rep or Dem and I will vote them.
If you want to vote for a major candidate, you have to vote Republican or Democrat. I’m an independent (unenrolled) voter and have always voted the candidate(s) not the party. Of course there usually is a Libertarian, Communist Party or some other third party presidential candidate on the ballot if you so desire.
Of course. For me, being an Independent means that I have no party affiliation or loyalty. I may vote for the candidate of my choice no matter which party he/she belongs to.
Registered voter for Obama. I am not a member of any political party.
I am a little confused by the question. I do know if whom I vote for is a Democrat or a Republican. I am independent which means I vote for whoever I chose, not by the candidate’s party platform, but by the candidate’s attributes and qualifications that most closely match my expectations. In other words, I vote for the person, not the party. The party affiliation in my view is baggage that unfortunately goes with voting. I have this view because I am fiscally conservative but socially liberal so not served by either party. I do know if whom I vote for is a Democrat or a Republican. I have never voted an Election without voting a split ticket, or voting both Republicans and Democrats on the same ballot.
I’m an Independent because I don’t buy into the entire platform of either of the major parties. I consider myself socially liberal and fiscally conservative. I would rather see our tax dollars being spent here in America on Americans than in Iraq, on, in my opinion an unnecessary conflict.
I vote people and where they stand on issues in relation to where I stand on that issue, party means nothing to me other than many people can’t or won’t think for themselves.
I’m independent, and I choose the candidate that will shift us toward the center. Giving tax money to big business is right-wing, and so I am voting left this election to balance. If Barack somehow manages to come up with money for too many liberal programs, I’ll vote right next time around. Unfortunately, both parties spend uncontrollably, I’d vote Ron Paul if he had made it, because he was truly fiscally conservative.
