How do you vote straight Republican when there are no straight Republicans to vote for?
I hear Republican political rallies are a foot-stomping good time! The theme song of the GOP is "It’s Raining Men!"
Seriously, though, it is old news that those who hate gays are all gay themselves. Didn’t anyone tell President Bush’s followers that?
Ron Paul IS an old school Republican. He could go a long way towards ridding the GOP of the stink of Bush.
Pono7, I think the issue of gay-bashing has retreated somewhat in the last year or so. It rallies the base of the Republican Party but doesn’t reach across political lines and someone like Romney who will have to reach across divides–he’s a Yankee, a Mormon and from a state the hard right loves to bash, so if hiring gays opens him up a little bit to more potential voters he’ll do it.
Good Question!!!
Its hard, I feel Ron Paul most represents the old school rep party, he is not convinving most rep. of his stance on the war which is where he lacks popularity with neocons. But if they look at the way history has shown. REP presidents where elected to end the wars in the past. Rep party has always promoted a non-interventionous foriegn policy
Get over yourself, and keep your day job – comedy is not for you!
I tell you, one Republican does something wrong, and it is ALL republicans, and that isn’t the case. Until you clean up your own backyard, don’t point fingers.
And there are straight Democrats?
Romney has never stated that he hates gays. He was actually for gay rights- until gay rights included legalized marriage. He is very respectful to those of the gay community, and feels that they don’t deserve discrimnation just because they are gay (in the sense of jobs, leadership, lending) but is very strong in feeling that legalized marriage should be between man and woman. Which as well as this is a religous stand point, he is also quick to point out that social decline and family values in countries and cities that have legalized gay marriage. But he is also the only Rep. to have hired openly gay people to help in his party and in his company- proving that he does not discrimnate if they are best qualified for the job- but he stands firm that he does not believe in gay marriage.
