How could a Democrat say they would vote for McCain?
I find it completely astonishing when I hear Hillary supporters say they will vote for McCain now. Do these folks not realize that he will extend the war in Iraq, not solve the health care crisis, not address the recession, pack the Supreme Court with more right-wing wackos that will overturn Roe v. Wade and generally give us four more years of Bush?
Most Republicans have fallen into line behind McCain, even though he was not their first choice. Democrats need to act like grown-ups and support their party and their country by making sure we get a Democrat in the White House. Don’t you agree?
Short answer, they care more about Hillary being the 1st woman President than any of those issues you mentioned above.
I’ve heard many times now "if not Hillary, who? If not now, when?" THEY DON’T CARE! Don’t you get it, just like Hillary, they want the White House, nothing and no one matters just that. A woman and a Clinton in the white house, that’s it. Sure they say they that Health Care and the war and poverty are what they are concerned about, but they’re own actions prove that they are either lying to us or themselves.
Hillary and her supporters want the whitehouse, and if it isn’t going to be her they’ll be damned if some upstart BLACK guy is going to get the nomination. People of color make them nervous anyways….I’m gonna get it now. Bring it on.
I agree with you! But many others don’t for some reason. Oh well. We will have to try without them!
How can an American say they would vote for Obama?????
Thats totally foolish, irresponsible, etc—-these Dems that say that need to change their minds by Nov—or be totally banished from the party!
Thank you! Well said and much agreed!
B/c Obama is a big meany
most of these "democrats" are probably more like moderates. i myself am in the middle of the road but am a registered democrat. i am not opposed to voting republican if i see the nominee fit.
i think most hillary supporters see obama as a radical left winger…which he is.
because he is a moderate that has political and military experience.
He is a clear choice for someone who isn’t polarized by mainstream media and Oprah!!!
WTF does Obama bring to the table?
Perhaps the degree of astonishment that you feel is because your view of blindly voting along party lines is being shattered by reality.
Believe it or not, many people do not appreciate Obama and would prefer to go with a candidate with more experience and a platform that has substance to it.
Obama is way too Liberal, and with a democratic Congress this country will be further driven into the ground. That is the problem in the first place. One party controlling the money and the policy. It will be another free for all in the spending dept.
I personally believe a Republican Congress with a Democrat in the White House would be best, but that’s not going to happen, so the other way around might work.
But I thought Democrats kept telling everyone that they put Country before the Party??? So I heard wrong then.
NOBAMA 2008!
they are the cool ones who know where the experience matters!
I suspect, after Hillary’s unprofessional antics quiet down and we get through a few debates, there are going to be quite a few Republicans that will actually vote for Obama. He is very bi-partisan on wanting to get things done … he did so in the Illinois’ legislature, as a US Senator and I have no doubt that he’ll do it as President.
Get use to it!
No, I don’t agree.
Obama is so EMPTY, all I hear him say is change, and that is the most empty word in the dictionary, change can be for bad too, don’t you realise? yes we can.. jump off a cliff!
besides the fact that he conveniently abandon’s his church, he conveniently starts donating money.. it just depresses me that he has votes at all.
why cant obama backers understand that obama is not as good as think his is.
and ,with the democratic congress and senate doing such a stellar job, many people are put off.
I think it is childish and ignorant to vote republican just because you didn’t get your way. It makes you look like a little kid crying because you didn’t get any candy.
I, for one, am a person who typically votes Democrat, and refuses to vote for Obama (even if Hillary joins him).
I have not seen any evidence that McCain will do all of those things. I expect quite the opposite from him. He and Hillary were much closer than Hillary and Obama. Obama is a nut, and I have no problem crossing over to the Republicans to keep him away from the White House. Even if he runs with Hillary, because she’ll have her hands tied and her mouth gagged if he’s in office.
Because they are VERY wise Democrats!!!!!!!!
How could ANYONE/AMERICAN (party doesn’t matters) ever vote for OBAMA??????
EASY, I am voting for Hillary, but if shes not on the ticket GO McCain. One man is NOT gong to over turn Roe v Wade. That’s the Democrat trying to scare women. Women are smarter than that, I hope you know. I am a grown up with my own mind, I am not voting for someone who I believe is anti American and not a Christian. That would be stupid. So, I am being smart, and voting for McCain. You need to WAKE UP!!
Why don’t people think for themselves anymore? It seems to matter more what party a candidate represents rather than their actual values…
Clinton supporter for McCain here. I’ll keep saying it. I vote the candidate, not the party, and make no apologies for it.
I think you need to worry more about yourself. Not preoccupy yourself with what others are going to do.
It’s a two way street – when the party supports my choice, I will support the party. The DNC has ramed BHO down our throats and ignored the millions of voters for HRC. The delegates/superdelegates are a joke. The DNC as a whole stinks. They will not get my support and are not my party anymore.
I couldn’t agree with you more!!! It’s so silly. It really makes Hillary supporters look like the idiots they are and I bet the Republicans are really getting a kick out of their stupidity. I bet Mcain is smiling from ear to ear thinking of all of the idiots that can’t look past the fact that Hillary LOST. They’re being sore losers and it’s so pitiful. Hillary and Mcain have completely different views. So they’re basically saying they would rather continue suffering as they have through the Bush administration than vote for Obama. It’s just that bad to stand by a man who has the same views as the woman they stand behind. I hope by Nov, they will look back at their statements and be ashamed.
I’m a moderate anyway, but I personally like McCain, who is one of the least conservative Republicans I’ve personally witnessed. He’s got experience and knows what he’s doing, even if I don’t agree with him 100%.
Obama is extremely left winged and has no experience, and nothing to bring to the table except his dull speeches about how he wants hope and change and to inspire America…last time I checked hope didn’t solve problems…
You know being a democrat is not like being born with a wart… even a wart can be removed. It is a political choice.. and when that choice is not as you believe… you are free to do and say whatever you wish. I am more worried about those Democrats that would vote for someone just because they are democrats.. big deal… that’s like eating shit and not really liking it but doing it because you think you have to. This is still a FREE country, right?
Grow up and grow independent.. we can vote for whomever we please. I have always been democrat because up to now I have felt I could support the party.. but I do not like or trust Obama.. nothing to do with his race.. if he had some experience and less baggage I would be gladly voting for him. As it is… if he chooses Hillary as a running mate.. I will abstain.. if he does not, I will surely vote against him.
We are fooling ourselves if we honestly think there is that much division between the Republicans and the Democrats anymore….. McCain is more democrat than he is republican.. and Obama.. who knows just what he is?
plain and clear the reason why Hillary supporters say this is because…"ATTITUDE REFLECTS LEADERSHIP" Allot of her supporters (not all of them) have her "i won’t back down and concede" attitude. Those are people that have these closet racist views. I mean truly what other reason is it? Because Hillary and Obama have the same policies on just about everything. So they won’t vote for him because……???
Uh yea because of racial undertones most of her supporters carry. Just like her when she said she can get the
"White working vote" . Oh so I guess all the whites who voted for Barack don’t work. Ha!
oh and for the DNC… It’s what Hillary wanted! she and all her supporters demanded to take it there then they weren’t happy. I mean com’on! You can’t change the rules in the middle of the game! Oh but for the Clinton’s I guess all things are possible because they feel In titled!
A better question is how many of Clinton’s "18 million" voters were Republicans to begin with – remember that some states had open primaries. Makes you wonder which candidate really has the most support among true Democrats and independents?
No, I do not blindly follow whatever the DNC says . I am tired of being embarassed by the DNC.
I doubt most Obama supporters know what he is really about .
I am very grown up and am starting to think my country might be better served with McCain.
no,i don’t agree.everyone has the right to vote for whoever they want.
Senator McCain appeals to many in the Democrat party (i.e. Hillary supporters), as well as having the support of most Republicans because he is a centrist and a moderate, which is precisely where most Americans are in their politicial and social idealogies. Obama talks the (centrist) talk, but McCain walks the walk. His record as a moderate who is able to reach across the political aisle is proven:
McCain-Feingold (election reform), McCain-Kennedy (immigration issues), etc. Unlike Mr. Obama, McCain has a record to match his rhetoric and is a true unifier.
