Do you think the Jewish vote that always votes Democrat feel silly now voting for Obama?
I never can understand why the Jewish voters nearly 100% vote Democrat when it’s always the Republicans that are there to protect Israel. Anyone else remember Hillary’s comments a few years ago about Palestine?
No, and why would they. Tell me which Democratic president has not defended Israel. Also, not all Jews in the US have the same view of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.
Also, you do know that Hillary was elected and reelected Senator from New York, a state with a comparatively large Jewish population. I have no idea what comments you are asking about.
No I don’t.
Uh, maybe because of conservatives’ staunch CHRISTIAN values…?
And surprisingly enough, all Jews are not particularly concerned with Israel.
The Jews must be delusional to vote for Democrats. I don’t understand it since they love Israel. It’s beyond reason why they vote Democrat.
"the Jewish voters nearly 100% vote Democrat "
Got a link or some source for this assertion?
Sorry, there is no safe way to answer this question without getting deleted.
Sooo, I’ll just say Hi, Mum!
Yeah, the GOP is out to protect Israel for its Christian right base.
Maybe they know that Israel has become a racist state dispised throughout the world and Obama was the only one who has the balls to force Israel to stop being racist.
I think anyone that always votes either Democratic or Republican should feel "silly."
Vote the person, not the party.
Not yet. I fear they will soon, though.
I am sure they will whine until Israel gets more money for bombs or we buy them yet another country. Some people are pathetic, and repulsive what are you going to do?
Who really cares? Israel should protect itself. I’m sick of us being the world’s 911 call. Jews have all the answers, right? Let them keep themselves safe then. Duh!
It’s a Media propaganda.
Jews overwhelmingly voted for McCain, but after Obama has won the election, Media started to cover up the whole story.
BTW: Me and my friends have received an e-mail (4 years ago) from our Jewish Music teacher to call the White House and tell that we support War in Iraq, because Muslims were calling in twice as many numbers againstthe war in Iraq.
Then, it was asked to delete the e-mail upon reading.
No, they feel CHEATED.
No doubt many of their business interests contribute handsomely to the Republican party.
Because the Jewish population is afraid of the "Christians Unite for Israel" that beat the drums for war with Iran.
Second of all the Jewish people believe in Freedoms and is afraid of the Rep’s stand on being a Fascist type group.
Third of all, Jewish people believe in Social Justice.
Jews live like Episcopalians and vote like Puerto Ricans. Go figure.
it makes perfect sense why jews vote democrat. democrats are more open-minded to a two-state solution and more diplomacy. republs just say israel=good, palestine=bad, and look at where that approach has brought us? 60 yrs of utter death without any compromise. ppl, like repubs, who make it a black and white issue will never solve it.
a lot of jews have family there so they have a stack in what happens so of course they’ll vote demo.
it’s also beyond reason why they didn’t vote for al gore and joe liebermann since liebermann is a jew. instead they voted for a moron and a boozo
If they don’t wake up today, they will never wake up.
This thinly veiled and amateurish attempt – or rather practice – at trying to get Jews to vote republican is ridiculous. Or rather, ludicrous. First, it’s assumption that Democrat presidential candidates don’t support Isreal is not substantiated and patently false. In order to run for president, you have to think Isreal is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
yes
I just love the way everybody talks about Jews as though we were all exactly the same and as though anyone who isn’t Jewish knows all about us! No, I don’t feel silly at all. I am an American! I am not an Israeli! I want Israel to survive..of course I do..but President Obama is not going to do anything that will prevent that from happening. No American president would ever do that and live to see another election! Why are you all so concerned all of a sudden about the Jews and what we think or feel? And the only reason the Christians "love" Israel is because your Jesus can’t come back unless Israel is not in Muslim hands. If you could magically replace all the Jews in Israel with Christians, you would do that in a New York minute!
According to recent polls, among religious groups, Obama has the highest approval among Catholics and Jews, so I would think that you are absolutely wrong in your assertion that they "feel silly now about voting for Obama." That’s fact. Maybe you need to figure this out if you want the Republican party to ever be relevant again. Your silly assertions and shallow thinking are apparently not enough to convince people. BTW, it has always been the US government, be it Democratic or Republican, that has protected the interests of Israel and apparently the Jewish people, like the rest of us aren’t willing to watch the conservative agenda bury us deeper and destroy the entire world with their failed foreign policy, their failed domestic policy and their failed economic policy.
Actually they don’t. It is like saying all Greek Orthodox Catholics vote Republican, or all tree-huggers vote Independent. Since less than 1% of US population say they are of the Jewish faith and of those only 35% actually live a Jewish life … you are asking what? Why they vote one way or another?
Perhaps you are not one that believes in anything. That is your right. But to put words in the mouth of people, from all races, all countries, and both genders, that declare they have a Jewish soul and lump them as one vote, is also not logical.
Take my neighbor, she never voted and she was 48 last year and been a citizen here for 40 years. Born in England and Black, she felt no need to say she voted for someone that ends up taking more money away from her. But this past November, she was called on by Afro-Americans, to help elect our president. So she got involved, and was thrilled when Obama got the vote. I asked her, why after all these years, she decided to vote and why Obama, since she already declared her alliance, and she said, "I voted for him because he is black." I told her his mother was white, and even though he came from a mixed race marriage, why should it matter if he was qualified–black or white, yellow or red? She was insulted that would say that he was also white, he didn’t look it and didn’t act like one. Go around the block, ask the first-time Afro-American’s why they voted for Obama?
I have never voted for what a person looks like, dresses like, what race he or she practiced, or by color. I believe that each person must be evaluated based on there support of various laws, how much they vote and how they do their job, also take into account, their education, their views on American life and how much they really care about medical health, the poor, the homeless, the hungry, the elderly, the blue-collar worker, etc. To say that people that voted for Obama, Jew or not, are now feeling silly? You feel silly for voting for him? Why?
When talking with various Jews, they vote by who is the best of the two and which one will carry out their promises. I could not argue against this, I believe the same. You vote for who you think will change our country for the better, not worse.
So why the hype about Israel? It was part of a huge partial of land, one was named (Trans)Jordan and was setup as a home for Islamics, and a much smaller partial, was named Israel, for those that professed to be Jews which became the only democratic country in the Middle East. So, are you angry they are democratic? You want to divide this partial into another totalitarian society to inch the Jews into the sea? Why? Can you not live in Syria, Lebanon or Jordan? What about Eygpt, they have a lot of room and a huge population that were born there, went to Israel for jobs when England ruled and left and came back at will, now they don’t like the view?
If Israel today, voted to change their name to the Roman Empire gave it, Palestine, after the Philistines, a ruthless pagan people that no longer exist, what would happen?
You would have various groups of people then complaining that they cannot live next to a Black, or a Catholic, or a Jew, or a Mexican, in the Holy Land that is democratic. What happened to Pakistan when they were created after 1947 from lands belonging to India? How democratic are they? Isn’t it great they have the bomb like North Korea? Don’t you feel the warmth of their commitment to their people? Are they leaving India alone now that they have their own home? What did Gandi says about Pakistan? Do you see any logic here?
Now go back to US citizens. While my Philippine doctor, educated here, only buys his food and bare necessities here, he goes back to the Philippines to buy his furniture, his suits, his medical equipment, his books, and even his reading glasses. Why? They are cheaper there. While there are more people here from India, the Philippines, the Orient and China, than the various races here that profess being Jewish, it has been shown time and again, that the Jews have built hospitals, schools, libraries, housing, and a lot of small businesses, and have given more to the American economy per capita, then any other religion, and over 45% of the communities are living below poverty level. Poor. Why would they not want to vote for someone that would help bring jobs back from China, Mexico, India and elsewhere?
While it is ok for those from India to return many times to their to relatives working for Dell and other American companies in their homeland, and Muslims to make their holy visit to Mecca, but you would deny the 5% of Jews here that go to the Holy Land or the Christians going to Bethlehem? Not logical.
Perhaps you don’t see the big picture. The huge membership of organized religions rely on the Jews and them being the "keepers of His Torah" as their foundation in more than one way. But it is so easy to forget God gave them a mission, to take the mundane in this
