I really like the photo. But I reckon the context is very hideous. The Clintons (yes, Clintons…Bill and Hill) have been engaging in rumor-dread-despise mongering with the sneaky implications that Obama is Muslim (and dread has taken that implication and run with it so some people are fearful that that must mean he's an Islamofascist terrorist). So they start with that…then circulate the photo. Obama has been trying to clear up the lies…so the Clintons' circulating the photo place Obama in a catch-22: he's been battling the Muslim/terrorist lies…the photo feeds into those fears and lies, so when Obama cries foul, the Clintons can then say (as they already have), "."If Barack Obama's campaign wants to suggest that a photo of him wearing traditional Somali clothing is divisive, they should be ashamed," she said. Don't know if I'm describing well enough so others can see the catch-22 she place him in. Anyway, he'll get out of it. Paradox can be gotten out of as soon as you realize you don't have to play the trap someone has tried to catch you in.
BTW, this photo is really better. http://news.scotsman.com/world/Obama-photo-sparks-new-claims.3813812.jp
As each day goes by, I dislike the Clintons more and more. I don't want them treating anyone like this. She treats a fellow Dem this way…what kind of shenanigans will she engage in if she were to become President.
I reckon it is just putting the nails in his coffin
It's him to a "T"!
I reckon he is dumb to kick up dust about it. If you run for public office, anything and everything you do not want to be shown will be shown.
He is either proud of his heritage, or ashamed of it. If he is ashamed of it, should be want him as president?
Something to reckon about, huh?
Do you question your Lord?
Yep , you can see the Muslim, and no , there is no way I would vote for a lip smacking , drug taking person of that caliber.
I reckon it was very racist and demining what she did not presidential at all.
I am a Hillary supporter.
But if this picture came from their campaign, then I will be switching out over it.
That would be SwiftBoating cold and cruel, and I do not stick around for such tactics.
If Obama expects to win, but, he should know how to deal with this, as the GOP is going to be alot more nastier, should he win the nomination.
I reckon I would rather see porn
Why is this only making news today? do people have to see things to believe it? There have been talks about Obama visits to many Muslim regions and his visiting madrassa and other Muslim teaching institutions all that since way before the elections started … but only now do people realize it? what did they reckon the talks were? lies? excellent Lord we need to wake up AMERICA !
Now the left would have you reckon this means nothing,, but
really ,Obama if he is supposed to be as smart as he thinks
he is,, He would have had that picture on his web site, with
caption explaining its significance or lack there of, But
he left it out for a REASON, And its going to bite him dead
in his ass, I like it.
I can see him on a plane trying to light his shoes.
And you know what happens then right.
Watch out America the internal war is coming.
Wow she is really fighting as she goes down huh?
Obama is simply dressing in the attire that is worn of the Somali in Kenya. This is standard operating procedure for politicians when they travel to other countries – it is an attempt to dress "common" for the people. I'm sure Hillary and many other politicians have photos just like this.
Besides Obama's father is from Kenya, so why shouldn't he embrace his heritage?
"Racism is ignorance which compels no understanding."
nothing. it's just a picture. In a different country. What is there to THINK about?
I reckon the whole country should vote republican.
Maybe even for Ralph Nadar.
I reckon this is just a picture of his world travels.
The fact that this is even an issue, the fact that people are really writing comments suggesting that he is somehow a threat to America is proof of the effectiveness of the politics of dread that President Skippy and his cronies have been beating us over the head with. And whether you guys accept it or not, its also proof that the very racism and ethnocentrism that is such a part of this country's history is still very present today. I personally reckon whomever released this photo released it with the intent on it having the exact effect that it is having. So if someone released a picture of him at Columbia or Yale in a full length black trench coat or a boy scout uniform, should we assume that he is glorifying the school shooters at Columbine or at Virginia Tech?
We already knew that Barack Obama is a member of Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ. Its minister, and Obama's spiritual adviser, is the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. In 1982, the church launched Trumpet Newsmagazine; Wright's daughters serve as publisher and executive editor. Every year, the magazine makes awards in various categories. Last year, it gave the Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Trumpeter Award to a man it said "truly epitomized greatness." That man is Louis Farrakhan.
Farrakhan epitomizes racism, particularly in the form of anti-Semitism.
Over the years, he has compiled an awesome record of offensive statements, even denigrating the Holocaust by falsely attributing it to Jewish cooperation with Hitler — "They helped him get the Third Reich on the road."
So a picture like this doesn't surprise me. What surprises me is the number of people that will support Obama on something like this when there is no way they would let McCain or any other Republican get away with this.
I guess that's why I'm an Independant.
