Wasn’t a true statement to begin with. The problem with Obama is he has done nothing to stop the bleeding. The other problem, Bush inherited the housing bubble, which burst under his watch. Although he many times went to Congress and said that the sub par loans were going to cause a recession and a collapse of the banking industry, Barney Frank and Chris Dodd denied there were any problems and refused to change the practice of sub par loans that the banks were forced to make.
The truth is Obama has no idea what he is doing, has no real plans to fix the economy, what plans he does have are to little to late and most will only exacerbated the problems.
Obama did not inherit a trillion dollar deficit. He did inherit a $450+ billion deficit which was a US history record but Obama’s 1st year was a $1.3 trillion dollar deficit. Bush wasn’t great and many bad things happened during his presidency (dot-com burst, 9-11, 2 wars, rest estate bust, recession) and he also passed spending measures that were irresponsible but so far Obama’s level if spending has been staggering. The Tarp funds that bush allowed put out were loans that a majority of which was paid back. This money was then turned into a slush fund when Obama took office and when the loans were paid back Obama proposed to spend it as if it were free money coming in and not the borrowed money loaned to stabilize the markets and be put back when returned.
Yes the pundits go to far some times and nit pick but history is also distorted to have people believe certain things by telling and leaving out certain details. Bush inherited a surplus, but that was built on Republicans pact with americans, welfare reform, and mostly the explxion of growth from the technology industry which collapsed and the government lost much revenue when this happened.
Not only are we not supposed to blame Bush, we’re not even supposed to REMEMBER that he was ever our President!
