Does anyone else find Barack Obama’s idea of a civilian military force a little more than frightening?
Barry Soetoro (aka "Barack Obama") wants to put together a civilian military that is just as well funded and well trained as the U.S. Military. I personally find this to be a rather frightening idea. Why do we need a civilian military? Who do you think will be in charge of this? Will they be here only to keep civilians with a mind of their own like us conservatives in check?
yes, and if we could see into the future this may be the turning point when the Democrats start taking some of our *freedoms* away from us
I think Guns will be the first thing that get limited
The congress and Obama won’t take them away but there will be
a need for everyone to *REGISTER* all fire arms..of every type to
the National Regisry of Firearms.
Next we all will have a NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION
some people will have to have chips inserted ..either voluntarily
or if they are felons or commit crimes a chip will be installed and it
will be monitored
But Big Brother has to control the masses with a Civilian National
Guard?
and would not this be a good way to control the masses? gun control comes next and then every voter must reveal who they are voting for

I find it very frightening. He can’t use the current National Guard…they would defend America. No matter WHAT he said. However, a new bunch can be indoctrinated.

Until recently the U.S.always had a militia. It is part of the Constitution. Try reading it sometime. After all, the militia is why we have the right to bear arms.
ever hear of the National Gaurd or Reserves? If they are just as trained and funded as our military, how can they be considered civilians?

I would agree …you are paranoid. Civilian military? We already have that…it’s called the National Guard. Maybe if our leaders would stop spreading our military so thin and then we wouldn’t have to send our National Guard overseas to fight in illegal wars, they could then perform the function of defending our shores.

I answered a similar question before.
We have a volunteer army. A LOT of our soldiers are foreign nationals who join up for a guarantee of citizenship.
And we need some Civilian volunteers who will be ready for a crisis and one of those forseeable crises is a possible coup by a military that might be considered largely mercenaries. If you want no civilian defense force, are you and your conservative buddies going to have the firepower to stop a military coup d’etat?

I’ve been talking about this all day. WHAT would be the purpose of a "civilian military force"? It’s obviously something different from what the National Guard does….and to be honest, it sounds suspiciously like the Nazi SS…….an armed forces used to police our OWN CITIZENS. As I’ve told many people, Obama is sounding more and more like our first American dictator. If he starts talking about the need to suspend the Constitution so that he can remain in office due to our being at war……be very afraid.
We had all better watch this character. There is no telling what he is going to try. He will do it slow and easy and millions will think his programs are wonderful until they have no freedom to stop him or control him. If you think history does not repeat itself you are very dumb. Read Mein Kampf and keep your eyes open.
I heard of this idea and researched it to find that what he actually speaks of in his speeches is invigorating existing programs, such as Ameri Corps and others that he specifically listed. Talk radio hosts have used the term "civilian military force" to do more Obama bashing. I find nothing that Barack Obama suggests to be frightening. I find the situation we are in due to George Bush to be the very frightening thing. Why don’t you worry about your Republican president and what he’s done to our country? Thank God we have someone of Barack Obama’s caliber to dig us out of the mess we’re in now.
