Should Obama provide funding to local stores to create more jobs?
If Obama provided 0 million to stores (Target, Walmart, etc.) with the stipulation that they would increase salaries to at least /hr and hire more people that would allow for more spending to boost the economy.
To thanatossassin:
It sounds great to support your local businesses but without jobs that is not possible. These small businesses don’t have the capacity to hire lots of employees; that is why I used Target as an example.
To all:
What jobs should be created for everybody?
People keep saying to support small businesses and we need more money spent in this economy. We need to understand that small businesses won’t always hire many people and stores such as Target and Walmart have the capacity to hire many.
Also, without a job spending is not possible.
Why not? He did for cars.
ummm ya ! NO
No, paying people more won’t help much. There needs to be a bigger market for more jobs.
Horrible idea. Corporations as such are what have driven the economy down and sent it over to China, Walmart especially. Huge corporate chains have bastardized what use to be a fair job with wages that you could actually afford to run family on, into wages that are considered well into poverty and can’t even support a single person.
If there were to be any funding towards private business, it should be towards the small business market, but that would be impossible to regulate distribution fairly. Personally, support your local small businesses, let the big box stores die, and the economy will rebuild on it’s own.
All the Maxists love your idea. So does their leader Obama. But it didn’t work out so well in Russia.
