Should Obama comment on the Israeli Gaza situation or doe the one president at a time excuse work?
Throughout the campaign this phony was attacking Bush policies left and right but with the crisis in Gaza he remains quiet saying there was only one president at a time. In case you guys forgot Obama did have a lot to say about the Georgia crisis while campaigning. This is not a time to remain silent but Obama has chosen to hide, pathetic.
If you are a pragmatist about US foreign policy, you should know by now that Obama is not going to do anything drastic to change the status quo in the middle east. (So much for ‘Change you can believe in.’) Even if Obama wants to do something — and that in itself is a remote possibility given that Obama’s primary concern is do enough to get elected to another term in 4 years — AIPAC is too powerful to allow such an eventuality. Sure, he will issue a statement that we are for human rights, freedom, blah, blah, blah, but that will not prevent a future Israeli assault. And he will do nothing. Remember that during the two-year presidential campaign Obama, Clinton and McCain were all clamoring for Israel’s support as though they were running to become the President of Israel. Such is Israeli and Jewish influence.
The long and unfortunate persecution that the Jewish people have suffered at the hands of others have made them steely and indifferent to the suffering and persecution of Palestinians — except this time the persecutors are Jewish. I read a remarkable statement recently: ‘Anti-semites used to be those who hated Jews. Anti-semites now are those whom the Jews hate.’ Brilliant observation.
Even today, Israelis clearly view the middle east conflict as a zero sum game — this was exactly Ben Gurion’s stated position a few decades back.
“We must use terror, assassination, intimidation, land confiscation, and the cutting of all social services to rid the Galilee of its Arab population.” – Ben Gurion
“If I were an Arab leader, I would never sign an agreement with Israel. It is normal; we have taken their country. It is true God promised it to us, but how could that interest them? Our God is not theirs. There has been Anti – Semitism, the Nazis, Hitler, Auschwitz, but was that their fault ? They see but one thing: we have come and we have stolen their country. Why would they accept that?” – Ben Gurion
I think Israel chose this time to invade deliberately. They know Bush is always going to blindly agree with every decision they make. They wanted to get in there before Obama comes into power. It’s not as certain what Obama’s stance will be.
I don’t think he is hiding, he doesn’t have any reason to speak since he agrees with the Bush administration on this.
good point.
yes it works! ME i would let them fight it out and then an only then comment on the conflict. Those people have been fighting since biblical times over lines in the Bible.Let them fight kill themselves, nothing we can do…….NAME A PERSON THAT HAS HELPED THE MIDDLE EAST TO STOP FIGHTING……..no one because they are still fighting…LET THEM FIGHT..stupid idiots..they could share it all and live in peace!!
Put it this way. The world has screamed for years America needs to stay out of other countries business. So i say lets start now. Lets stay out of Israels business. Let them do as they please. If they want to wipe Hamas out so be it.
Isnt that what your kind has screamed about for years, wanting America to stay out of other countries politics?
He’s picking and choosing his topics to comment on.
Soon he won’t have that card to play. The only card he’ll be able to count on is the race card.
i was wondering why no one has heard from him. one pres at time or not he still is the future president he should atleast give some input or propsals to the public. after all isnt that what all his hoo ha was meant to be about?
come on obs, where are ye???
Would you then complain if he fully supported Israel? . Course you would. !
As if Obama is in a position to do anything about it as he is trying to get his family and life situation in Washington settled. He has to move his family to a hotel from Chicago, then to the Blair House, then to the White House.
Why is Bush failing to interrupt his vacation to comment?
Maybe he doesn’t have a clue and is hoping this will all blow over by January 20th. LOL. Which ain’t gonna happen. But one (Obama) could hope.
He should condemn Israels use of excess force and ground troop invasion. Lets be realistic in where this is going and that is an arms race to fend off or destroy Israel . Remember what the Hezbollah did to Israeli forces? They took out American made tanks with Iranian and Russian made weapons. This no joke but our current president and that which was elected are. This is a very serious situation.
i dont know, i voted for him. I really and truely hope that he will DO SOMETHING to promote peace. i personally dont agree at all on bush’s statement, i bet obamas going to agree with him.. I wouldnt want to say anything that bush agrees on so i gues he’s doing himself a favor. I hate politicians, they all make empty promises. lets pray that obamas different from all of those other politicians.
It is not the time to be silent when inoccent women and children are being massacred. Where is the change Obama!. But I am not surprised, he has surrounded himself with zionists.
