Why does Clinton Get credit for a surplus when it was actually Newt Gingrich and the republicans ?

   So you agree then it was the Republicans that gutted the military??

   wasn’t a Republican congress and Newt that declassified the internet leading to increased cash flow and tax revenue.

   The federal deficit grew!

   For one year, they spent under budget…thanks to Newt!

   your way off, the republicans wanted to slash taxes and bring us further into debt and it was Clinton who wouldn’t let them do this to America.

   If you really want to be honest, you’ll acknowledge that it was neither of them.

   In 1999 and 2000 the dot.com bubble was just creating a boatload of artificial wealth on the stock market, and a very low unemployment rate. Gov’t tax revenues shot up even faster than the gov’t could spend it.
