Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney faced a rowdy crowd at the Iowa State Fair Thursday, with people interrupting his answers to chant ‘Wall Street greed’ and him snapping ‘corporations are people, my friend.’ (Aug. 11)
It‘s interesting how liberals scream about how corporations spend so much money to get Republicans elected. Yet in the same breath, Dems praise labor unions as real people — completely ignoring the “corporations” that employ them and the astronomical amounts corporate UNIONS spend to elect Democrats.
The idea that lower corporate*&individual tax rates spur job growth is a 30-year REPUBLICAN LIE. Since the implementation of theREAGAN&BUSH TAX CUTS,America has LOST MORE jobs than at any other time in its history.+Not collecting a FAIR SHARE of taxes from corporations&thewealthy has spawned a SERIOUS REVENUE PROBLEM which should be a matter of NATIONAL SECURITY. On the other hand,a WORKING MIDDLE CLASSwith money to spend DOES SPUR JOB GROWTH. AMERICA,REJECT THE REPUBLICAN LIE!
@MrTouchShriek Legally, it is considered a person- despite its physical limitations. A corporation can join in a marriage-like unity with a similar entity and it can be detained and plundered as punishment for crimes that it commits.

Let’s cut back the much loved and romanticized welfare program called the United States Military. Why, in this day and age we need such an immense military force when our closest competition (militarily) are all allies, is beyond me. Start there if you want to balance the budget.
With today’s threats, a more sophisticated and technologically advanced military is far more desirable than this huge behemoth that we have today. Defense spending is where the real waste is.
“Wall street greed” they chant, HA funny. Do you know of one society that does not run on greed? do you think China does not run on greed? Do you think Russia does not run on greed? What is greed? Of course we are not the greedy ones its only the rich who have worked hard to get on top are greedy. Romney’s comments are completely relevant in the CONTEXT of the argument. If you increase taxes on corporations, this will have the direct effect of reducing wages? for the employees, eliminating jobs, and/or reducing stock values. In other words, increasing taxes on corporations hurts PEOPLE.

Corporations are people he says. He is right. It is the people at the top, and venture capitalists that help fund them that benefit, not the workforce.
Romney was the leader of a leveraged buy-out private equity firm that made millions on the backs of companies that ultimately collapsed, putting thousands of Americans out of work. That track record raises serious issues about his ability to provide service and add value.
PART of the problem with SS/medicare, is the money most people put into it,, they’ve already used up,, making them reliant on everyone else putting in to cover what they are still pulling out,, like a huge ponzi scheme really, and is not sustainable in current state
