Imagine if speaking of Obama she had said, “And as far as that community organizing thing, he’s a black and the blacks caused their problems in their own communities and to clean that up – it’s not even, again it’s not a subject.” McCain’s response that “the views of my mother are not necessarily the views of mine….” wasn’t exactly a strong rejection of bigotry toward mormons. Hopefully, Obama will be a stronger advocate of overcoming hatred in any form than what McCain showed here.
