I’ve heard that Huckabee and McCain do not like Mitt Romney personally. Does anyone know why?
I was watching the Republican debates on MSNBC last night and one of the commentators (can’t remember which one) said that Huckabee and McCain do not like Mitt Romney personally. Does anyone know the real reason why?

It’s untrue. They’re ripping at Romney because he can easily win.. especially if he picks McCAIN or Rudy, as a running mate… the media didn’t hardly mention that the guy WON Nevada, as they were falling all over themselves to declare McCain “back” after New Hampshire (and McCain ONLY got 1 more delegate out of NH than Romney — another fact simply NOT reported..). Our USA media is now nonsense… just take a look at CNN’s darling anchor… a white haired but young (!!) former Game Show host…? (come on, now) You’re supposed to beleieve that Anderson Cooper knows wtf he’s talking about, reading about off ‘prompters?
The DNC is trying to boost both Huckabee & McCain because they see these 2 as more beatable then Romney and even Giuliani… and the media (even the MSNBC yappers) simply follow the sheepish media, in creating a notion that Huckabee is a formidable candidate and somehow the 5th candidate is UNmentioned (Ron Paul)… even with Bill Maher’s tireless support. Because the media doesn’t want to be OBVIOUSly left-wing.. in supporting Paul who they KNOW is already marginalized…
It’s media games.. and right now, it’s ALL also anti-Obama (notice that CNN has been running that Chicago-lobbyist story 10-12x per day? the same one that Hillary mentioned?)… and how the NY Times is trying to SUPPORT the Clintons right now? The DNC establishment WANTS Bubba back in the White House… thinking it’s their best hope (because 10,000s of jobs are at stake, you know).. all this is, is a race for jobs. It’s favoritism A-Z… and CNN should simply ENDORSE Hillary and McCain.. the way the NY Times already has, at least.

Because he’s successful . . . he plays to win and they can’t stand it. This guy is the real deal (I’m a life long Democrat . . . If I can admit it I hope the Republicans can)
I can only guess that it is because Romney has no principles at all; he is willing to say whatever he thinks will get him what he wants. Huckabee and McCain may have values that are contrary to my values, but they do have values.
Maybe it has to do with an airport bathroom.

Perhaps because while they’re busy getting their names in the press, he’s running away with the delegate count.
My guess is that he calls them out on their record, and when they dont answer, he doesnt let it go.
Loafsta – There is a difference between talking about soemone’s past record and going negative. Exactly what did Romney say that would be considered a low blow? I would argue that Huck is taking the low road if anybody. Romney talked about all of their records including his own. The candidates records SHOULD come to light, and if they see that as a negative, then that should be a red flag. Also, you must be kidding when you say that McCain and Huck are more conservative than Mitt. How so??? That is just entirely false – sorry. btw, I am not a big fan of Mitt.

I don’t think they believe he’s a “real” Republican. He was the governor of a very liberal state, had fairly centrist political views before he got to the national level, and is still probably to the left of them both on most major issues. He also was the first to go negative in the campaign (with attack ads in Iowa and New Hampshire), he is using a lot of his own money (which makes the others feel he has an unfair advantage), and he seems to change his stance on issues whenever it suits him politically.
That said, I like him more than any of the other options, but I’m a Democrat!
I heard a political operative on the radio one morning saying that Romney is the phoniest man who ever walked the planet. Perhaps that has something to do with.

I’m not sure but allot of people hate McCain. I think he would be worse than bush. McCain would sell Arizona to Mexico and give them California and let all the illegals vote to be president he doesn’t care about working Americans because he never was one. he has a Mexican national working on his campaign. to try to get the Mexican vote. he said our jobs aren’t coming back hes going to retrain us. I ask to do what. and he has been in the Senate for a long time why didn’t he try to stop all our jobs from going to china.
They are intimidated by Romney’s presents. They accuse Romney of spending his own money.
It’s Politics! Mitt Romney earned his money by working hard and he knows a lot when it comes to the economy. He worked in the Private sector and knows that Washington is “broken”. He does not owe anybody any favors for giving him money. Romney is tough on the illegals. He spoke out about McCain being with the Democrats.
They don’t like that.
They talked about this yesterday on the Chris Tucker show. The panel pretty much all agreed that the root of the problem is one word: envy.
They used a lot of schoolyard analogies, possibly underscoring the point: “He’s the guy who was always smarter, richer, better-looking than you”; “He’s the guy who your mother wondered why you couldn’t be more like him”; “He’s the guy you always wished would just trip and fall on his face”, and so forth.
Either that, or they just don’t like Mormons. In Huckabee’s case, considering the number of times he’s brought religion into this election, I think it’s pretty damn likely. For McCain, I think he just can’t stand the competition.
