I read that Mitt was terrified of being drafted for the Vietnam war, so he just bought a plane ticket to Paris and hung out in France for two years while his daddy arranged some deferrments for him.

Romney served for two years as a Mormon missionary in France, so he wasn’t just “hanging around”. He then had a deferment because he was a student at BYU. Mormon men are required to do missionary service as part of their faith.
He was being a Mormon missionary. Pretty much all male Mormons go on missions for their church for 2 years. Mitt Romney was no exception. On his mission, he even got into a car crash and it was reported that he died, so it’s not like he wasn’t in any danger on his mission. Also, you haven’t cited a source, and if you really do have a source, it isn’t a reliable one. Therefore, Romney didn’t show cowardice.
