Here’s tonight’s discussion AGENDA ( www. charlierose . com )
October 8, 2009
As the Obama Administration continues it’s review of Afghanistan and Pakistan policy we talk about deliberations with Martha Raddatz of ABC News, Peter Baker from The New York Times and former State Deparment Official Jamie Rubin. Then we talk about the NFL with it’s Commisioner Roger Goodell and a conversation with Republican Govenor of Indiana Mitch Daniels.

this should be in politics, not travel.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he ran, but I think it’s a bit early for anyone to be announcing that they’re running. Just to give one example, Obama announced his candidacy in February 2007, 21 months before the election. If I remember correctly, most other candidates announced in about the same timeframe. It’s currently 37 months before the next presidential election. Mitch won’t announce for a long time yet.
I don’t think Mitch is publicly seeking the presidency at all. A lot of people are pushing for it in Indiana (I would love to see a 2012 bid) but I think he’s trying to play it cool for now. If he does decide to run, we won’t be hearing about it for awhile.
