Why do people make a big deal out of women like Michelle Obama & Cindy McCain?
All during thе election, mу dad wουld complain еνеrу time Cindy McCain wουld ѕhοw up οn t.v. I wουld always argue(аnd still dο argue) thаt ѕhе′s irrelevant & thаt nο one ѕhουld pay аnу attention tο hеr. I feel thе same way аbουt Michelle Obama. Shе′s nοt gonna bе іn thе Presidential cabinet & ѕhе′s nοt mаkіng аnу vital decisions, ѕο whу dοеѕ anyone care аbουt hеr?
they are in the public eye, that’s just the way it is.

HOW CAN YOU COMPARE MICHELLE TO CYNDI? A HARVARD LAW GRADUATE AND HOME WRECKER!
Because it’s less of a challenge to criticize a person’s looks than anything else.
A spouse may tell us a fantastic deal about the Candidate.
I must say that I am impressed with Michelle Obama’s all around demeaner.
Because the First Lady still is an ambassador of our country. They do travel and meet with heads of state, they entertain VIPs and Heads of State at the White House and they have their own small pet projects that they do work on and have a voice in. It is a full time job and for Michelle even more so as she still has to be a Mother to 2 small girls. I doubt Michelle will be remembered as one of our better 1st Ladies.

People examine the potential First Lady because that role is very vital in many areas. It’s entirely up to the President just how involved the First Lady is with policy. Hillary Clinton was highly involved. Laura Bush is not. Nancy Reagan practically ran things after Ronnie’s Alzheimer’s started to show. But there are entirely different reasons to make a huge deal out of these two women. One is a former drug addict and home wrecker who may speak to the judgment call of her husband in marrying her to start with. The other is a highly educated and respected scholar and professional who probably has a fantastic deal she can contribute to her office. She is too talented to do nothing but plot state dinners and greet dignitaries, and I’m sure Obama more than understands that. It seems as though you reckon they SHOULD be irrelevant, rather than just thinking they already are. That’s what you get for thinking.
Because most husbands listen to their wives. They’re more vital than you reckon.

And in response to First Lady’s answer, I guess you are unaware that Cindy McCain has done a TON of humanitarian work, whereas Michelle Obama has done very small (if any).
I’m not sure why some people feel the need to attack either lady, that being said I agree with you on this issue..there certainly are more things to be concerned about right now then how someone is dressed etc.
Michelle Obama is soon to be the First Lady. No, she won’t be in the Presidents cabinet but I am sure the President Elect, and his lovely wife Michelle do talk, and he will no doubt share things with her.
After, all she is his partner, in life. The Mother of his two Lovely Daughters.
I would not make too much of it, some people always have something to say be it excellent or terrible about every thing. The way of the world I guess.
