Michelle Obama just signed a Modeling Contract. Is this appropriate for a First Lady?
According to the Cosmopolitan Magazine website, First Lady Michelle Obama has just signed a modeling contract with Ford Modeling Agency in New York.
They plan license her image for use in advertising that targets charities.
Is this appropriate for a First Lady? Is modeling beneath her?
I don’t think she should have done that with her being the First Lady and all
Although I do not have a problem with modeling, I do not think it is the most appropriate. America is about not having image being important and in modeling, image is very important. Also, in the economic crisis modeling expensive clothing is not good for your image. The first lady of France was a model and if anything it has hurt her.
as long as she doesnt over do it, and if its for a target charity i dont see why not. as long as she’s not in bikinis and skimpy clothes then okay i guess

there is nothing wrong with working 2 help a charitie.she just shouldnt over do it.
I think it’s nice that she is doing it for charity; however, modeling is not the greatest way for her to approach the idea. Beside, having the first Lady represent/favoring/give attention to a particular brand is not so good for her image. Anyone in her position should not be used as (literally) a body image. Leading a charity organization or become the spoke-person to several charity events would have been better. I agree that Mrs Obama has a great sense of fashion but I think the fashion world and the media are milking it too much.
