They want the majority of Americans to work for Walmart wages, without health insurance , pensions, vacation or sick days and absolutely no union representation. America will be divided into the working poor and the very rich, period.
Republicans want to abolish Social Security , Medicare and Medicaid . The rich don’t need these programs, so they are unimportant, just a drain on profits.

@ljl765 Actually…I did read the bill…both before and after passage…and both senate and house versions. Spent my spare time doing so for some 8 weeks. The only legislation I’ve ever seen worse than it is the so called “Cap and Trade” tax legislation. The HC bill was written by paranoids who clearly are afraid of doctors and business in general, and it will never actually go into effect (most legislation doesn’t) as there isn’t enough money in the country to implement it. Read it yourself.

@streetswell Actually…it’s a slang term meaning “to push legislation through committees and onto the floor” when speaking about lawmaking in a state or federal legislative body. Most of the legislation I’ve “championed” has had to do with senior tax exemptions and small business tax incentives to induce hiring.

I think you mean “Addendum”…but you’re right. Most of these tax bills are laden with addendum pieces that they hope no one will spot. They attach them, knowing they’ll sail through as part of the package.
I’ve long championed legislation that would make it impossible to amend bills by addendum…put it right out there where we can see it…why hide it unless you’re trying to sneak something past us?

I skimmed through the so called cap and trade legislation….it is the most singely and incredibly bad law I’ve ever reviewed…and I’ve reviewed a couple of thousand bills over the last 30 years. It was, literally, written by idiots for idiots…all in the name of environment (which it actually doesn’t address except in section titles).
