(KSTP) Elwyn Tinklenberg said donors have given his campaign than $640000 dollars in the 48 hours since his opponent, Republican Michele Bachmann, criticized Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama. Tinklenberg’s campaign said those donations have come from nearly 13000 different people across the country. “We’ve gotten a lot of people who said, I voted Republican all of my life. I can’t stand this, here’s my donation make sure you beat her,” said Tinklenberg. The surge of donations came after Minnesota Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann told Chris Matthews of MSNBC’s “Hardball” that Obama “may have anti-American views.”
