Congress Should Make It Easier and Cheaper to Create Jobs
Instead of focusing on the American people’s priorities — namely, jobs and reducing government spending — Democrats are continuing to endanger job creation by defending their budget-busting health care legislation and planning even more unnecessary spending. Senate Republicans are committed to reducing the cost of health care, cutting spending, and creating an environment where businesses can grow and create jobs.
I wish people would buy their own health insurance instead of expecting their employer to buy it. We buy car insurance, home insurance, life insurance … we know how to buy insurance. If we owned our own policies, there would be no loss of coverage when changing jobs or being temporarily unemployed. We wouldn’t be paying into the system twice when both spouses work. And employers would not incur a large expense for every added employee.
