Why couldn’t Joe Biden look the American people in the eye last night?
Sarah spoke right to us all. She is real. Biden is a typical politician. Palin is CHANGE from the old. I’ve been sitting on the fence and after last night, my vote 100% goes foe McCain/Palin.

Not looking someone in the eye when you are talking to them is a sure sign of lying.
At least he could look at Palin while he was debating her, McCain couldn’t even do that, even after being asked to.
Im pretty sure your were not watching the same debate as me. Sure Palin was spending more time looking at the camera. She was the perfect salesperson. She appealed to emotion and that it. Bidens intellect must have turned you off, eh?

I don’t know what debate you were watching. He looked right into the camera a lot. He happened to also regard the audience in the auditorium and the moderator. I actually thought Sarah Palin looked very robotic in her inability to look at the live audience, choosing instead to look at a camera, which couldn’t react to what she was saying. That says a lot about her. A lot that’s negative.
Because cameras work in one direction only, duh.
She was a stupid Susie Homemaker with her silly “aw, shucks” comments – as usual. If that’s good enough for you, you deserve no better than a bimbo incubator for your VP, I just hope the majority of Americans are vastly smarter than you, for America’s sake.

Actually, I thought that Biden did quite well. You could definitely tell that Palin’s experience as a newscaster came in handy for her last night.
Actually, I felt that Biden was talking to us. He looked right at the camera numerous times. All Sarah had to offer was a few winks (how trashy) and all that condescending good old girl slang that made me feel as if she felt she had to talk ‘down’ to me. Plus, I’m going more on what was said than how someone looked or didn’t look at the camera. She couldn’t even answer most of the questions. She changed the subject to talk about what she wanted. Biden even called her out on it.
Staring into a camera lens is not making eye contact, genius.
If you are voting based on someone looking at the camera, then this is a sad day for america. Joe Biden did look at the camera, but not as much as Sarah Palin. In fact, if you watched the first debate, McCain never looked at the camera while Obama almost always did. Why didn’t that affect your vote. You conservatives kill me. You don’t listen to the issues and will use the most unconventional reason to cast your vote. If you want some real feedback on what happened last night check on cnn.com, msnbc.com, or abcnews.com, all which had Biden winning the debate by a landslide. I have not seen an online voter poll yet that has Palin even close to winning.

Palin showed what she really is: a former TV presenter who can memorize lines. I was half-expecting her to whip out a flute and butcher a tune.

Secondly, Palin is a typical phony lightweight attempting to fool Americans into thinking she has any business at all being anywhere near the office of Vice-president by reciting over and over the same 4 or 5 talking points she memorized in a pre-debate cram course. She has absolutely no depth of knowledge and that is abundantly clear. Fortunately, every poll reported thus far has found that people overwhelmingly thought Biden did the better job in last night’s debate, particularly UNCOMMITTED voters.

I found Sarah’s colloquial speech condescending, as if she felt she needed to dumb down her speech so the average guy would understand it.

You know if you want to convince someone you are telling the truth, look them straight in the eye. So guess what, knowing that con men use the technique of “straight in the eye”. Its the more truthful, less nervous person who doesn’t have to convince anyone of whats coming out of his mouth who doesn’t have to watch his body language.
Biden was truthful, Palin was, if not lying, at least not using her own words.

You have it all backasswards; Palin is the same as Bush and we all know what he has done for this country poised as we are now on the brink of another recession; Palin is adept at avoiding direct questions, ignoring the issues, pronouncing words correctly e.g., nuclear, Iraq etc she had trouble saying Biden and referred to him as O’Biden at one point perhaps she thought they were in Ireland? The woman is so clearly incompetent and ignorant it was excruciating to watch, a real squirmer. Too bad they didn’t have a caribou cooking contest she would have excelled at that, something she actually knows about.
i find it ridiculous, yet hilarious, how you think just because she is a woman it automatically makes it a CHANGE from the old. You are buying into exactly what mccain and his campaign wanted you to. they saw the hoopla the media created over obama being black, and wanted to cash in on some of that celebrity. She is not change just because she lacks a penis…she is bush with breasts, Mccain with mammaries, she epitomizes the last 8 years of thinking to a tee!
Wow, Poor Sarah. Did anyone not tell her in journalism school that you have to address the audience based on the event at hand? This was a debate… and clearly she was not debating with the “American people” but with Senator Joe Biden. John McCain had the same issue as he does not understand what a debate is for. Debates often are about explaining one’s side and allowing them to be in the presence of ones opponents. This gives the ability of making points and understanding differences. A main factor of any good debate is “respect”. For Sarah and John to not focus on their opponents as they made their assertions was not only disrespectful, but also gives the notion that they were not confident. (Which is clearly the truth now.)
Hands down, Even good ol’ G Dubya was able to look John Kerry and Al Gore in the eyes when it came down to the debates. Good grief.
