1994 Election Results Coverage: ABC World News Tonight (Part 2 of 2)
ABC World News Tonight (with Peter Jennings) coverage of the 1994 Midterm Election results of the previous evening. The Newt Gingrich-led GOP took control of the US House for the first time in 40 years. George W. Bush was elected Texas Governor. House Speaker Tom Foley (D-WA), US Rep. Dan Rostenkowski (D-IL), and NY Gov Mario Cuomo (D) were defeated. Jeb Bush lost his first campain for Florida Governor. Proposition 187, an anti-illegal immigration measure, was adopted by the California electorate. Watch Part 1 here: www.youtube.com
To libs, it’s “uncivil” if Republicans win, but perfectly civil if Democrats throw bricks through the windows of a Starbucks.
Prop 187 is one of the main reasons why the GOP has a hard time winning California. It is 36% Latino.
