They also wanted tort reform, which would drastically reduce the cost of insuring doctors. I don’t agree with $250,000. being enuf to cover severe injury due to clear malpractice, however.

Also, you’re nuts if you think the meltdown is obama’s fault. Bush was in office from the onset to the apex of the problem. I actually worked in the mortgage industry and witnessed the bush administrations attack on controls against banks first hand.

You are dead wrong in your assertion that the republicans had ideas that obama ignored. I watched the 3 hour summit on health care in its entirety. Republicans brought virtually nothing to the table, and instead urged that we either change nothing, or let republicans write it up. They didn’t disagree with any of the specifics of the bill on valid grounds. In fact, about 99% of what repubs brought up was just emotionally charged rhetoric. I don’t understand your last part??

Interesting, because every major poll conducted over the last few years indicated that Americans wanted health reform. Also, aside from just taking the words: “ramming down our throats” directly from faux news, you do realize that we don’t have national health care. We should, because it is want the majority of us wanted. But instead, obama pussied out and let the republicans destroy the bill beyond any chance of real reform. So how is that ramming it down our throats??
