@Panchee123 So if someone had offered you help in order to make a life for yourself, you would have accepted it (since you yourself say you ‘do many things to help the unfortunate’ and therefore would expect the same of them) but you wouldn’t accept it from the government? I don’t follow your logic at all. Especially since the same ‘collective’ I believe in is a crucial part of charitable foundations and the concept of charity as a whole. Come up with a better argument.

People need to take responsibility for what they put in their mouth and what exercise they don’t choose to do.
Barbour may have a point about the poor health of his state being due to those things, but the lack accessibility of health care is not due to diet, alcohol, or drugs.
