@ericfontainejazz Thats what hitler did. He left companies in private ownership but told them what to produce & what prices would be etc. Thats the only difference between him & stalin.
This is something that the Libertarian Party and other Libertarian Organizations should be doing. And then market them well so they have strong candidates for GOV, Congress and President in the future.
The two fossils on the left, did they even mention freedom as an actual concept? I know that they don’t like Obama and Pelosi. Forbes is a one-issue guy, fine. Then Gary Johnson comes on, he’s better. Then Tom Woods comes on and splashes cold water in everyone’s face. Tom Woods is the man!
Forbes is tripping. We betrayed & massacared the Philipino people.
@bigboss686 CONTINUED Fair tax also provides a way for people making at or less than the poverty line to avoid taxes completely on the essentials of living such as gas, groceries etc. As well as nobody of any income level being forced to pay taxes on any used goods. The only time anyone will be taxed is if they choose to buy new products. Frankly, the system is just genius. And I can’t do it justice in this small comment box so please go to fair tax (dot)org an start a new tax revolution
@Digali I’d guess that your artistic? Anyway, government still has listed in the Constitution a few enumerated powers that have to be funded, the fair tax is the most equitable way to do this. Also guessing from your comment you’re not very well informed on the fair tax, another a reason you should go to the site and look into it. What it is is a national sales tax that eliminates 37 different embedded taxes as well as the IRS completely. And yes, this country has always had sales taxes
@bigboss686 a transition from one sort of federal tax to another won’t save us. How about…uh…get rid of federal taxes altogether? We didn’t have an ‘income tax’ OR the IRS before 1913. Yeah, along with the federal reserve, 1913 will go down as a year of infamy and tyranny. Our nation survived for more than 200 years without a federal income tax. Let’s go back to that time. We don’t need this ridiculous overbearing government at all. It’s sucking the life our of is. It is a parasite.
@ericfontainejazz Hitler did that too. “Why do I need to own the factories when I already own the people?”
No no no, Steve, the flat tax will NOT save us. Americans need to get off the idea of a flat tax and start looking at something realistic that put’s true power back in the people’s hands, something like the FAIR TAX.
I implore everyone reading this comment to go to fair tax dot org, look at the tax revolution that can save America and deliver us from the tyranny of the progressive income tax
I for one…..am all FOR bombing Chicago : )
thoroughly enjoyed every minute..:)))
FYI: Forbes hurt his neck headbanging to the Hayek vs Keynes rap
STeve Forbes is a gentleman and VERY bright and with it. Tom Woods is astute as anyone I’ve heard.
Who are these small-minded dumbasses getting stage time with Thomas Woods?
bravo tom woods!
@Panpiper thanks for the civil reply. I will need to learn more about both Austrian and Keynesian theory to form my own opinion. But first GOTV!
@shizont 29:00 “When people have confidence, they buy things, and when people buy things, businesses expand because more goods and services are demanded of them.”
In other words, he believes in ‘demand’ as being the driving force behind the economy, that demand is some sort of shifty thing that there can be not enough of and that therefor in principle can be or aught to be stimulated. That is Keynesianism to the bone.
@Panpiper please explain the reasoning behin dyour conclusion
Yay for Tom Woods! And Gary Johnson revealed himself to be essentially Keynesian.
@efrem1
You should want an idiot like Palin to win in 2012 so that she gets blamed for the inevitable collapse of the US.
Gary Johnson for President and Tom Woods for Press Secretary!
Tom Woods is right: “It’s not a leftist thing to be concerned with mass-murder.”
@FreedomForUsAll O.K., if you want to get semantical about it, I’ll defer for argument sake. I was just digging on a Obama slogan. Steve Forbes is very right. It is about the battle of ideas. If one were to want to learn about the ideas of Liberty in the classical sense, Mises.org is the place to go.
@Anarkocapitalist I disagree that the Mises Institute is about hope. It’s about reality.
@Nexus974 I am leaning toward Johnson only becasue of Ron Paul’s age.
