What have the Republicans in the White House done for you in 8 years?
If the Republicans could have done something positive for you why haven’t the been able to do it in 8yrs of owning the White House? Even when they were the ruling party in Congress and the White House not too long ago. What kind of change do you expect from John McCain?
A LOT more than the Socialist / Communist / Liberal / Marxist Democrats give them credit for !!
From another user – -
Democrats are TRYING to BLAME Republicans for the FAILURES of the Socialist / Communist / Liberal / Marxist Democrats of the last 65+ YEARS !!!
Democrats have to recognize that since the 73rd Congress in 1933
… for a MAJORITY of THE LAST 65 YEARS
… Democratic Houses of Representatives and Democratic Senates have
… CONTROLLED the nation and the President.
A TOTAL of 38 Sessions
… with Democrats in CONTROL for 28 of those!
WE need to inform/TELL our political representatives that WE NEED TO PASS a Constitutional Amendment for the LINE ITEM VETO.
This will keep the SPECIAL INTEREST GARBAGE from being attached to valuable legislation.
If Congress wants to give the president that power, they will have to pass a constitutional amendment, Supreme Justice John Paul Stevens said. "If there is to be a new procedure in which the president will play a different role in determining the text of what may become a law, such change must come not by legislation but through the amendment procedures set forth in Article V of the Constitution," Stevens said, on June 25th, 1998.
IF your special interest is SO valuable, why do you have to HIDE it in valuable legislation?
So, with them REFUSING to PASS the Line Item Veto, in reality, the House and Senate have REALLY been controlling the country!!
AND, with the CURRENT Senate and Congress having the WORST approval rating in HISTORY, hopefully we will see a LOT of changes after the general elections.
A recent Reuters poll is out and Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have pulled an upset: They have managed to make George Walker Bush twice as popular as CONGRESS.
RECENTLY – - JUST 8% of Likely Voters now say the DEMOCRATICALLY CONTROLLED Congress is doing a good or excellent job.
Democrats generally believe in heavy fines for honest work, while rewarding sloth and indulgence.
Do YOU think that people should be able to do absolutely nothing productive and get government hand-outs for sloth and indulgence – healthcare, tobacco, alcohol, drugs, STDs, etc. ??
Do YOU want to have YOUR MONEY TAKEN from YOU and YOUR FAMILY to FINANCE these people ???
.
It makes a LOT of sense to me !! … Do your own research !!
ALL Americans should READ Obama’s Global Poverty Act (S.2433) … He is wanting to give America’s sovereignty over to the United Nations !!!
Alaska Govermor Sarah Palin has MORE TOTAL political experience than Obama!!
KS1982
McCain will bring the same change as Obama, which would be the same change Clinton, or Romney would have brought. All continuing in the tradition of Bush.
1) Bigger government
"war on drugs"
2) Bigger government budget
3) Bigger government power
4) Nationalist Socialism (these bailouts and gov takeovers)
5) Interventionism
6) Transfer of wealth via the ‘fed’
7) "war on terror"
9) "war on some new boogeyman"
10) Patriot Act
11) Real ID Act
12) Hundreds of thousands of pages of new laws
If you think there is a difference between the main candidates, then you can not unwrap your mind from around the issue of gays, abortions, tax tweaks, and slogans – look at the issues I mentioned above.
The republicans have only been molesting each other in the bathroom and counting money they have earned while in office.
Now they are doing there best to try and pin all the bad things they have done on the democrats. They are history this November.
I sleep under the blanket of freedom this administration and our Armed Forces provide.
Well lets see, other than causing our economy to sink to an all time low, higher gas prices, higher food prices, a horrible housing market, job market woes, hm.. they have done absolutely nothing for me.
… I’m sorry, what makes you think that the President has to do something for you?
The Federal Government exists to run the Union of the States… if you want your government to take care of you I suggest you contact your local and state governments as it is their job to do what you want.
Nothing. John Mccain will be the next George Bush
Bush gave Big Oil a $2 Billion tax break and McCain wants to give them $4 Billion.
I have a 5.125% interest rate on my newly built home! That knocked me down to a 20 year loan. Oh yeah my rate is fixed unlike all of the idiots who are .going into forclosure. I expect McCain to continue to keep America safe.
17 million 1st time homw buyers
Emplyment at all time high
What I expect from John McCain is to actually work with all political parties and have legislation passed that will.
1. Energy plan that includes oil drilling, nuclear. wind. solar. Instead of the stupid nonsense that the Democrats call for.
2. Pass enviromental legislation that he has been trying to get passed since 2000 that caps carbon emmissions at 1990 levels.
3. Reduce corporate tax rates that are the cause of jobs being sent overseas.
4. Work with all parties to address immigaration healthcare and social security.
As Obama has gone from ‘change" to just being another Democrat Presidential candidate, I have lost any hope of Obama doing anyhting other than more of Pelosi and Reid
It really got bad since the present congress got into office oops a democratic majority!
For me personally, they have defended me and my family from further terrorist attack. They kept the economy growing despite some very powerful pressures on it such as the 9/11 attack, spiking fuel costs, The war in Iraq and Afghanistan, bank failures and the foreclosure debacle.
Basically, over the last eight years the value of my house tripled, my income tax went down and my country was kept safe. Terrorism is on the run, Iraq is now a democracy and my personal income has gone up over 40%.
Thanks for asking.

I can tell you are a confused lib I don’t want my government to do anything for me except lower my taxes, protect this country from our enemies and stop putting obstacles in people way so they can provide for themselves.
Here is a article in the WSJ
Stop watching the liberal press so much because you will not get any of this information there.
PRESIDENT BUSH HAS A GOOD ECONOMIC RECORD
The evidence shows that much of the Democratic Party’s criticism of President Bush’s economic record is wide of the mark, says Keith Marsden, a fellow of the Centre for Policy Studies.
How does the performance of the U.S. economy really compare with other advanced economies over the eight years of George Bush’s presidency? Data published by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the World Bank, the International Comparison Program (ICP) (a cooperative venture coordinated by the World Bank) and the U.S. Census Bureau allow a nonpartisan, factual assessment, says Marsden.
Economic growth:
U.S. output has expanded faster than in most advanced economies since 2000.
The IMF reports that real U.S. gross domestic product (GDP) grew at an average annual rate of 2.2 percent over the period 2001-2008 (including its forecast for the current year).
President Bush will leave his successor an economy 19 percent larger than the one he inherited from President Clinton.
This U.S. expansion compares with 14 percent by France, 13 percent by Japan and just 8 percent by Italy and Germany over the same period.
The latest ICP findings, published by the World Bank in its World Development Indicators 2008, also show that GDP per capita in the United States reached $41,813 (in purchasing power parity dollars) in 2005; this was a third higher than the United Kingdom’s, 37 percent above Germany’s and 38 percent more than Japan’s.
Household consumption:
The ICP study found that the average per-capita consumption of the U.S. population (citizens and illegal immigrants combined) was second only to Luxembourg’s, out of 146 countries covered in 2005.
The U.S. average was $32,045; this was well above the levels in the UK ($25,155), Canada ($23,526), France ($23,027) and Germany ($21,742). China stood at $1,751.

He also prevented this country from being attacked again in the last 8 years and have liberated 2 nations and given them the possibilty of achieving a democracy you need to speak to people with different viewpoints than yours and stop following the liberal media like a lemming
Kept us from being attacked again in our own homeland. Our armed forces have kept this from happening and the Republican White House has supported our troops.
