Should President Elect Obama be allowed to smoke in the White House?
The White House was designated as a Non-Smoking Area by former First Lady Hillary Clinton. Obama is a smoker, although he is trying to quit. Should he be able to smoke in the White House, or at least designate a " Smoking Area" should he desire to light one up? And, maybe keep himself some Cold Colt 45′s in the White House frig!

Laura Bush is also a smoker maybe he should ask her about the "smoking hole".
I can see him not smoking in the open part of the house, because its a "federal building", and anywhere else in the country, you can’t. However, in his own private area, sure, let him smoke, he’s a grown up.

LOL!! It’ll be his house for about 4 years… I think he’ll be able to designate his own zone! Besides the American public have a whole lot more to worry about than his smoking habits. I think the economy trumps that.
I don’t think the policies of a former administration would stand for a new one. It is completely up to the new president what he will allow in his white house.
In think he should be allowed to smoke on the balcony. I think it would be funny to see him standing behind bullet-proof glass surrounded by Secret Service Agents just to grab a puff. It would be a great photo-op!
No. I don’t think anyone should smoke in the White House even if they live there. If his battle to quit smoking is the best you can do…Obama will be president for a LONG, LONG time.

If there is no smoking in the building he should have to abide by the law. We had a president once that thought whatever the president did was legal, that’s how watergate came about.
No, the White House is a National Landmark filled with priceless art and antiques – not to menton history,and it should retain its non-smoking designation. Obama should just quit. Besides, every person that works there would be exposed to his second-hand smoke.
