Can any country shoot a missile at the White House or Pentagon and hit it?
If wе cant ѕtοр planes frοm hitting thе pentagon οn 9/11 аnd thе White House οn sept 12, 1994, hοw саn wе defend ourselves frοm foreign attack?

Missile defense system. But Obama shut ours down in eastern europe in return for nothing from russia. So the next question is how do we defend ourselves from the enemy within?
There are not many countries that have that level of technology to hit the White House with an ICBM. The only country close enough to do it without a long range missile is Canada, so I suppose, sure Canada could fire a missile at the White House and hit it. As for an ICBM, you’re talking Russia, Britain, France, China…that’s probably it.
Really, yes…with info gleaned from the internet, too. My dad really worked with a national security team…they sent out a scholarship essay question to grad students–$100,000 grants to people who could submit the scariest threat to National Security that one could perpetrate with only information and materials that would be available to ordinary citizens. The winner of the competition submitted that he could build a cruise missile and fire it at the WH. The gave him the grant, and told him to see if he could simulate successfully. He could. Of course…that was in the pre-9/11 world…
Threats to National Security are far more creative than most people reckon.

Yes, we have SAM batteries that can shoot down incoming missiles, as well as SKYCAP fighter (F-16′s I reckon) patrols.

Perhaps a submarine could get off a cruise missile, but there would be time to evacuate the WH. Pentagon, probably not, but that is not the "nerve center" they’re looking for anyway, just a bunch of admin records.

Welcome to the real world, this has been a concern for over 200 years–and just because someone tells you a fairy tale on the t.v. doesn’t mean that the threat ever really goes away.
They don’t need a missle. All they need is an airplane. Remember its been done before at the Pentagon. Also it would be no distress for terrorists to do it again because just a few weeks ago an aircraft over Minnisota failed to land at its destination and was out of contact for quite awhile with the ATC so it could easily happen in the Washington Area. Don’t believe all the crap that your government tells you about how you are being protected.
