TRUMPED: The Donald, The Widow and Eminent Domain
Did you know that the Institute for Justice tangled with Donald Trump in the 1990s when he was working with a government agency to take away a widow’s home through eminent domain for his private gain? www.ij.org
I’m going thru condemnation (eminent domain) right now. Funny how a lot of projects that were on hold for years suddenly are going through now that home prices are at an all time low. I live paycheck to paycheck and they are telling me that getting the loan paid off is “fair”. If the government has their way I’ll be left with no house. Forcing someone to sell their investment when it’s not smart to do so is government-sanctioned theft.
Typical “small government” republican.
If I had been Stossel my next question would have been, “Donald, what did the five fingers say to the face?”

I wrote a song (“No Trump Contract”) about Trump’s bullying back when IJ first reported it, and brought it out again during Trump’s fake presidential campaign. The clips of him here make me think he’s an even worse sleaze than I had thought.

Its interesting…. I worked for a builder, when I first started I use to be the kid delivering bottles of cognac to city employee’s on Christmas. We usually payed city officials with favors rather then money and my last year working for this corporation we demolished a historic heritage building & turned the site into a parking lot.

@eagleeye1975 The lady was bullied and got lucky. Many other people weren’t so lucky because they did not have enough media attention when the State took their property.
There is no separation of power. There is State (legislative branch, executive branch, judicial branch) vs everyone else. Anyone who thinks that judges are independent is delusional.
The point is that she justly acquired the property and such right should be absolute, not up to the State to decide whether she can keep it.
