Why did the Democrats oppose tighter regulation on the mortgage industry?
This whole situation could have been avoided, if Democrats wouldn’t have vetoed tighter regulation years back.
Bush tried to enact tighter regulation, but Democrats opposed this, so poor people could buy homes they could afford.

Nice try…but it never happened when the Dems were in control. Its the Reps mantra of more deregulation and no oversight that got us into this mess
A. most of the loans were made before this… so… it didn’t matter… it wouldn’t have changed those…
B. I thought Republicans want less regulation? and wasn’t that a Rep. majority congress? Dems can’t veto… that’s a presidential thing…
so they could steal more of it
these are the same people that had charge of it in the first place they are the same people that started it back in the 90s.
