Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., announced her intention to co-sponsor a bill requiring background checks and heightened scrutiny of all gun purchasers. The Fix Gun Checks Act was introduced by Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Rep. Carolyn McCarthy, D-N.Y., will reportedly introduce the House bill later this year.
